Today Bioware released a large in size (~1,2GB) but small in number of things done to the game Hotfix Patch. Mass Effect Andromeda should now be 1.07 when you update.

Here is the list of changes in 1.07
  • Fixed issue where server would auto disconnect when sending strike teams on APEX missions.
  • Fixed a crash on UNC Outlaw when nearing outpost of signal source. (Kadara S.O.S.)
  • The Athletic Casual Outfit will now unlock for all entitled players (Deluxe edition content)
  • Fixed an issue which prevented completion of the Nomad upgrades / Shield Crafting quest. Please travel back to the Tempest in order to trigger completion.
  • [PC only] Fixed a HUD issue where some large non-standard resolutions would have elements centered in the middle of the screen

In the style of Porky Pig… That’s all, folks! It is a Hotfix. The big update was a week ago with Update 1.06. It was also the first major patch to Andromeda since its release.

Direct X error video card removed. Anyone know how to fix this bug.

I haven’t had this error, but it would seem to be a popular one.
First – simple things that everyone should check first – is your game up to date, video drivers updated and so on.
Second – some folks have managed to fix it by upgrading the page file in Windows and (unfortunately) downgrading the game’s graphics to medium/low. I didn’t read all of the 12 pages of posts, but if you haven’t seen this EA HQ thread, take a look:

ugh.. why even ask that it’s the first thing I did.. Everyone does that.. I have played 96 hours of this game on high settings only after the update 1.07 did it insta crash when you try to play. My vido card works flawlessly. I have more then enough ram to run it. and I know that it’s simply the update that caused the problem.

Not sure how to update page file. But it irritates the crap out of me that as soon as I update the game claiming it’s the best patch we have out yet. It breaks my game. Worse this game is so horribly bad in story I was literally just loading it up to make fun of it and show my friend how bad it is.

Hey, now… you seem to be a little aggressive ^^. I was doing is trying to help you out. As I said, I am lucky to not have stumbled on this issue yet and I have no first hand experience on how to deal with it.
Hope you find a way to work around it!

Frustration!!! I love this game, but I am confounded by technical issues. Today’s hot fix (1.07 patch) will not install as expected. On PS4 Pro, deluxe version, the patch notice appears…intallation completes but I can’t find the new outfits for Ryder. Screen displays 1.07, help desk suggested uninstall and reinstall, I have completed the process 6 times with no success. I am at level 85 Ryder, with mire than 200 hours of game play, I was so excited that the updated outfits would be available for in process game play. Very disappointed.

what about the “gone dark” side quest, are the angaran bugs still bugged?

  • Dan

I was really hoping for a fix for the black-screen-on-startup issue. I still cannot actually play this game.

I fixed my issue by removing my Corsair Keyboard software. I hope this helps you too.

As far as I’m aware, the issue with Corsair Utility Engine was fixed with the day one patch. I remember having to remove that software during the Origin Access playthrough. I was able to reinstall it on launch day. I’ve heard others adding the game to exclusion lists of software like MSI Afterburner, or disabling anything that uses an OSD.

Phew. I just ran into that Kadara SOS bug a couple of days ago, and it was beyond frustrating. Glad I can finally wrap that quest up!
