This is in fact a real statement by a CD Projekt RED Senior Writer :)
Really? Hard to believe. The original Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is so polished and near-perfect (*cough* my totally biased opinion :P) that I find it hard to believe.
What we learn from an interview with Eurogamer Italy is that Jakub Szamalek talked about the game’s upcoming expansion Blood and Wine. The expansion is set to conclude Geralt’s story, as it will be his last adventure as the main character. Szamalek says that the experience and feedback received since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released last year has helped the team at CD Projekt Red achieve something even better than the main game.
Szamalek points out the Wild Hunt’s lack of a charismatic enemy, saying they’ve made a unique and memorable opponent for Blood and Wine. He also mentions that they’ve created a complex story that they believe players will appreciate.
Here’s the quote with the brief description for Blood and Wine on the official Witcher 3 Steam page:
“Blood and Wine, a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.”
The Witcher 3: Wine and Blood expansion is scheduled for release in the first half of 2016 after it was originally planned for the first 3-4 months and was pushed back a little bit. Not something new for CDPR, but we know they have a good reason for delaying this.
