Due to various reasons I am told to stay home so while I am forced to work from home and have a lot of free time I am entertaining myself by reading comics or watch movies or play videogames.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has a special reward for those who log in during the free weekend which is lasts from March 19th until March 23rd. Not only do you get to invite your friends and play for free during the weekend you are also eligible for the Ezio outfit and the Milanese sword. All of which are gold items so that means that they come with a bonus. JortRaptor gives us the details in his video:
If that doesn’t prompt you to (re)install the game and invite your friends then I don’t know what will. The story is epic, the gameplay fluid and you get to look like the most iconic assassin in the history of assassins: Ezio! Read Vulkk’s guides on this epic game that should be in everyone’s library.
Marvel Must Reads
Over the past year I have covered a lot of comicbook classics that I consider Marvel Must Reads. These comics surpass their normal awesomeness and the writers were able to outdo themselves lifting them iconic and classic status. So if you are bored because you are forced to stay at home for some reason then please take a look at these must reads and pick one or all of them.
Ultimate Spiderman – The comic that connected everything!
The Ultimate Spiderman comic was released way back in 2000. And I thought to myself “Oh no, not another reboot” because by then I had seen many. Instead the comic gave me a lot of hours of fun just because of the different take on Spiderman and the refreshing take on old characters.
Iron Man Extremis – The comic that paved the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Iron Man Extremis is one of the best Iron Man stories ever written. It was written by none other than comicbook legend Warren Ellis. Ellis has a long resume that consists of writing The Astonishing X-Men, Moonknight and The Thunderbolts.
Captain America – Winter Soldier
Captain America: Winter Soldier was an instant classic. It featured a more agressive Captain America and the story was a dark one with covert operations and black ops. But the best of all was the resurrection of none other than Bucky Barnes. The famous sidekick back in the early years of Captain America.
The Night Gwen Stacy died can easily be marked as a turning point in the Golden Age of comics. It was a huge shocker and to this day it remains one of the most important stories in the world of comics. The Night Gwen Stacy died was a two part story arc that was published in The Amazing Spiderman #121 – #122.
The Dark Phoenix saga is one of those comics that you absolutely must have read. It has got everything a comicbook fan wants. Jam-packed with action, an amazing storyline and the death of a much beloved character.
You can of course support your local comicbookshop, although it may not be handy with the current situation that has taken the whole world, or you can read them digitally on Marvel Unlimited who are having a nice promotion. So these are the things you can do while you are being told to stay home.
