Lost Ark Heartbeat Island Summer Festival Event Guide

It’s Summer, and that means it’s time for the Summer Festival Event in Lost Ark. This guide breaks down everything you need to know to participate!

With the release of Lost Ark’s “Wrath of the Covetous Legion” Update, comes the Summer Festival event taking place on Heartbeat Island. Similar to past Event Islands, Heartbeat Island’s tasks consist of Co-op Quests and Daily Quest that allow you to earn tokens. However, unlike the previous events, there seem to be fewer alternative ways to gain the event currency, Summer Festival Coins.

How to Participate in Lost Ark’s Summer Festival

To participate in Lost Ark’s Summer Festival event, you need to have at least one character that is Level 50 or Higher. To access the content of this event, you must head to Heartbeat Island, which can be found just West of the Continent of Annika.

Regardless of where you log in, just take an Ocean Liner to Annika and you’ll be a short sail away. Once you visit the island once with a character, you’ll be able to take the Ocean Liner directly to the island later on.

Once on the island, you’ll need to complete the simple quest called “[Event] Hotter and Hotter” which you can accept from the Event NPC, Jollus. This quest has a few simple steps to complete:

  1. Play the Song of Valor for Jollus.
  2. Perform the Dance, Umarka, or Sway Emote for Jollus.
  3. Perform the Cheer emote as Jollus dances.

Once completed, you’ll have access to the rest of the event content, while also earning 50 Summer Festival Coins. The rest of the Event content consists of three Daily Quests, two Co-op Quests, and access to the Event Shop.

Summer Festival Daily Quests

Prepare to get a good stretch, grab a snack, or otherwise relax while you complete these quests. Despite there being three Daily quests, these daily quests are all exactly the same. Sadly, they’re also exceptionally boring and ask you to stand in three various areas for 30 seconds each.

Completing each of these will award 100 Summer Festival Coins, for a total of 300 Summer Festival Coins. The absolute best way to fit them into event participation is to do them in between the two events, during that 10-minute window.

Summer Festival Co-op Quests

The Heartbeat Island Summer Festival has two distinct Co-op Quests, which become active at 50 minutes on the hour (XX:50), every hour; and every hour on the hour (XX:00).

Dance Co-op

This first of these, which stats at that 50 minutes on the hour timing, is a Emote Co-op Quest, which asks you to participate with 2 different dance emotes. Participants must before, the Dance and Umarka Emotes a total of 20 times each for a total of 40 emotes.

Since these Emotes loop, you can just pick a side and use the emote to participate. It’s typically faster to get one side done, then the other as a group. This can take as little as 2 minutes if everyone contributes properly. Completion rewards you with 100 Summer Festival Coins with the minimum Silver particpation.

Glowstick Boss Co-op

This second Co-op Quest that starts on the hour is a “Boss” fight, that has you fighting a boss with a Glowstick. Every amount of health the boss loses, the boss will award everyone in the arena 4-8 Summer Festival Coins.

This appears to be a drop every ~100 Health, and with the boss having 4,000 health this results in players getting roughly 250 per boss that is defeated. The Quest goes on for long enough that decent size group of players can defeat 2 bosses in the time given.

As mentioned to deal damage to this boss, you will need to grab a Glowstick, which can be found on the left and right side of the arena. Once collected, you’ll have only a basic attack to work with, but the Glowstick also has two abilities that heal you deal damage; Attack Speed Increased and Move Speed Increase.

The Attack Speed increase boost your Attacking speed from ~1.5 hits per second to around 3 per second, doubling your attack speed. Due to the Attack SPeed scling with your own Attack Speed Stat, classes that stack up Swiftness can earn a bit of extra coins.

Unlike the previous Chicking Boss from Wild Wing Island, this boss can actually knock out, as their attack appear to deal a percentage of your health, with attacks that range from dealing 20% up to 90%. This makes the Move Speed important for getting quickly getting back in range after avoiding AoE Attacks.

Completing this event earns you 450 Silver. You get no additional completion bonus, so you actively have to hit the boss to get the most out of this Quest.

Earning Summer Festival Coins

Unlike past events, the Co-op Quest and Daily Quests are the only way to earn Summer Festival Coins. As such, the short list of ways to earn Summer Festival Coins is as follows:

  • Daily Quests – Up to 300 Per day.
  • Dance Co-op – 100+ every Hour.
  • Glowstick Co-op – 400+ every hour.

This results in you being able to earn a minimum of 1000 Summer Festival Coins in a single visit. You can also earn another 500 or more per visit to the island.

Summer Festival Coin Exchange

You can exchange your Summer Festival Coins on Heartbeat Island, as well as any major hub city in the game. This is done by speaking to the Exchange NPC in a given area.

The Summer Festival Coin Exchange has the usual assortment of nice items to pick up, from Card packs to Honing Materials. Strangely though, Pheons appear to be absent from this event’s reward list. Below is a full list of the event’s rewards as offered by the exchange.
