Hasbro announced some of the upcoming Vintage Collection and Black Series figures at Hasbro Pulse Con!
Hasbro Pulse Con is a Hasbro special event where they announce some of the upcoming releases of different franchises; Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, Marvel, Transformers, and Star Wars.
Cassian Andor and B2EMO set
This was the first Star Wars figure announced at Hasbro Pulse Con, it was also exclusive to the event. The Andor and B2EMO set was first revealed on a previous Hasbro Pulse but wasn’t available for pre-order until now.
Andor may not look like it but it’s very posable, the jacket makes an excellent job at hiding many of its joints. B2EMO is able to telescope up and down just like the B2EMO we see in the series.
The Mandalorian Rescue Set
Din Djarin, Grogu, Moff Gideon, and the Dark Trooper were also previously announced. I really like how the flames interact with the Dark Trooper, recreating this scene has been made infinitely easier with that extra accessory.
My favorite figure of the set is by far Grogu with its little handcuffs, I can’t help but laugh at how funny it looks. I doubt we’re getting another version of it, this set might be something worth getting. This Mandalorian Rescue Set is available for pre-order.
Selfie Series available now
The Hasbro Selfie Series allows you to become a figure like the ones we all love to buy and collect. The idea is that through its app, Hasbro scans your face so it can create an accurate plastic version of yourself.
This series was announced earlier this year, and now the time has finally come for it to go live. This is still the first iteration of the product, I’d expect them to make many improvements as they receive feedback. Since every face is unique, it’s fair to assume that not all of the figures may look as good as others, but it’s a very cool concept that many people are eager to try.
Vintage Collection
Andor is arguably the hottest thing at the moment when it comes to Star Wars, the series feels like a very fresh breath of air in an industry that often goes for the safer route. This, among many other reasons, is why fans are loving the show.
It’s about time that we get more figures about the series, the first one is the Vintage Collection Cassian Andor. Its design is simple but very accurate to the screen version, the coat matches the exact same color and the blaster looks very good.
Vel Sartha is one of the newest characters that appeared on the show, she’s the fierce and bold leader of the group that’s going to steal the entire payroll of an Imperial Sector.
Vel Sartha’s figure is able to pose in ways a guerrilla fighter would do. We might not know much about her yet, but if you plan to get the entire crew this is a good way to start. The only accessory is her distinguishable blaster rifle.
No matter how many years pass or different versions are released, the original trilogy has something unique that make fans want more and more. On this occasion, some special figures from Return of the Jedi have been revealed.
Princess Leia isn’t iconic only because of her bloodline or character, Leia’s outfits are some of the most memorable of the saga. The green poncho with black boots and Leia’s blaster is a Star Wars classic.
On the other hand, Han Solo rarely changes outfits, but this Black Series version comes with a stiff cloth that serves as Han’s coat. It’s a really good option if you want to have Han and Leia with their respective outfits from ROTJ.
Fighting for the Empire, we’re getting the Biker Scout. This trooper is a simple figure, it comes with just a single blaster as an accessory. I really like how the boots look like they’ve been covered in mud. Now they only have to re-release the Speederbike to make it a fantastic combination.
My favorite figure of this announcement is by far Wicket, it looks incredibly detailed and the colors are fantastic, a bow, arrow, spear, maze, and torch are included as accessories. I think this is the best Ewok figure made in a long time.
Trooper build packs are excellent ways to recreate a scene without having to buy multiple individual figures. Usually, there are three troopers and one officer/commander but this one is very different. Friggin’ Dan and the Modal Nodes are being released together in a single trooper build pack.
A total of seven figures with their respective instruments are included in this pack, more than enough to create your own band. The price is something to be a little concerned about since it’s almost double the figures, but I’m so glad that they’re releasing it. I might actually get one.
Black Series
Continuing with the Andor hype, Hasbro revealed four figures of the main characters of the series. The first one is, of course, Cassian Andor. If you think it looks familiar that’s because it’s the exact same figure of the Andor and B2EMO set, just sold separately in the distinctive Black Series box.
Bix Caleen, one of the few people that Cassian can trust joins the lineup. Her clothes colors match the screen version, and her hair looks a little different from what I remember but that could change with the upcoming episodes. The only accessory is a datapad.
Luthen Rael is, in my opinion, the best-looking figure of the four. His flexible coat is on point but what really stands out is the face sculpture, it looks amazing in comparison to the others. A small blaster and knife are the accessories included.
Senator Mon Mothma is the last of the Andor series figures. Her dress is the highlight of the figure, there are a lot of textures that give the illusion of it being a real dress. The pose matches its real-life counterpart, the only thing I’m not sure about is the hair color, but I might be wrong on that one.
We’ve got many Mandalorian warriors in the last couple of years, but this one is making its debut. Axe Woves, one of Bo Katan’s companions seen in The Mandalorian is joining the Black Series. Like most Mandalorians, it comes with a helmet, a Z-6 jetpack, and a blaster pistol.
