To unlock Fast Travel Points in Gotham Knights you have to find and scan GCPD Patrol Drones first. This guide will explain when you can do that, how to do it and the locations of all Fast Travel Points in the game.

How to unlock Fast Travel Points
As you progress through the story, a way to travel faster across Gotham unlocks. Visit Lucius Fox and he will explain to you that you can use Fast Travel Points in Gotham City and get you to places at lightspeed.
After you complete the Heist at STAR Labs mission, a new message will appear on your Evidence Board. It is none other than the famous Lucius Fox, the inventor.
He wants to meet with you in person because he wants to give you flowers. He missed Bruce Wayne’s funeral and is looking for a way to make up for it.
To secure a Fast Travel Point, you’ll need to scan the GCPD’s patrol drones in the area. Aim and hold your AR Targeting at the drones to complete a full scan.
The data from the scan will automatically be uploaded to Lucius Fox’s computers and he will make them “more friendly” towards you and your friends.
You can now warp to a secured Fast Travel Point on the map.
How to scan a GCPD Patrol Drone
Before we go to our list of all the Fast Travel Points in Gotham, there are a few things that you need to know. The droids fly around in the area that is indicated on the map.
Upon arrival, I would advise tapping your AR Scanner once and they should pop up in yellow since all of them are unscanned.
As soon as you scan one of the droids, you will see that it turns white on your scanner.
First of all, in order to scan you will need to hit your AR Scanner button and hold the button down while you follow the droid as it glides over the skies of Gotham.
Before you scan the droid, it should look like this:
When you hold your AR Button to scan it, it should look like the droid from the first image but with a yellow glow around it.
This means that the scan hasn’t been performed yet. When you start scanning it, a text will pop up that says: Surveillance Drone, Analyzing…
After you are done, the yellow glow is gone and replaced by a white glow. This means that the droid has been scanned and the scan was successful.
It is also to indicate that you have scanned that particular droid and that you can’t scan it a second time.
The game won’t allow that. It is accompanied by the text:
Surveillance Drone: Neutral. Scanned. FastBat Detection override sequence uploaded.
If a drone has no active shield, you can scan it in the air, but you have to be close enough to it to do that.
If a drone has a shield, you have to wait for it to land in its designated spot, take off its shield and then you can scan and analyze it.
All Fast Travel Points Locations in Gotham
There are 8 Fast Travel Points all over Gotham. I have listed them all, where you can find them and the droids that you need to scan to unlock them. In some areas, they are all shielded, in some areas they aren’t shielded at all, and in some areas, it is mixed.
Here is the list of all eight Fast Travel Points in Gotham.
- Southside
- Financial District
- West End
- Tricorner Island
- Bowery
- Bristol
- Gotham Heights
- Old Gotham
Financial District Fast Travel Point
You will start at the Financial District, that’s where you will meet Lucius Fox. He will talk you through the scanning part and the droid.
He will then guide you to Southside where the tutorial continues. After that it’s fair game and you can start wherever you want.
Southside Fast Travel Point
Southside is part of the tutorial where you will learn how to scan a droid. Under the guidance of Lucius Fox, he will teach how to unlock a waypoint and what you need to do. There is only one shielded droid to scan.
West End Fast Travel Point
You will need to scan 3 droids before you can unlock this Fast Travel Point. All 3 of them are shielded so you will have to wait until they are all docked. A shielded droid can’t be scanned, so some patience is good.
Tricorner Island Fast Travel Point
On Tricorner Island, the Gotham City Police Department has not implemented any shields yet. You can scan the droids without having to wait for them to dock. This looks easy but it is not.
The droids are far apart and if you leave the area, you will have to restart the mission. So beware that you stay within the vicinity, which however is not indicated on the map. That makes it even trickier.
Bowery Fast Travel Point
At the Bowery, you will have to scan 3 droids. None of them are shielded but they are quite high. To make your life easier, I would say find the highest rooftop and do an AR Scan and they should be visible on your radar.
After that, it is a matter of getting close enough to perform a scan. It can be tricky but there are some church roofs that allow you to stand on while performing the scan. As well as a windows washer platform.
Bristol Fast Travel Point
In Bristol, you will have to scan 3 droids. All 3 of them are shielded and cover quite a large area. As before, while the droids are far apart, you can still reset the mission by accident when you cross an invisible line.
I really wish the developers would have indicated when you enter a mission area and when you leave a mission area. Especially in this part of the mission, the mission got reset 2x for me.
Gotham Heights Fast Travel Point
At Gotham Heights you will need to scan 2 droids who are both shielded. So you will have to wait patiently until they land on their platforms. After they are docked, you can scan them easily.
Old Gotham Fast Travel Point
In Old Gotham, you will have to scan 2 droids in order to unlock the Fast Travel Point. They are quite close to each other so it is quite easy to do. There are no shields, they are both unshielded.
New Contact Lucius Fox
After you have unlocked them all, Lucius Fox will join the team as a contact, like Rene Montoya. You can find him for new technological upgrades and he will also have some extra missions on the map.
How to Fast Travel in Gotham Knights
After all of the Fast Travel Points are unlocked you can travel all over Gotham.
Simply open your map and find a green Fast Travel Point icon. TO travel to that Location, click on the green icon.
When should you unlock the Fast Travel Points
Having all the Fast Travel Points unlocked has a lot of advantages. You can travel real quick all over the map progressing through the main story really fast. So in that regard, I would say yes, please unlock all of them and enjoy the main story.
But there are some cons. Sometimes while you are driving through the streets of Gotham, some crimes pop up. And as a guardian of the city of Gotham, it is your job to protect the citizens of Gotham, even if they distrust you.
Another reason to unlock the Fast Travel Points, while you unlock the Fast Travel Points, you will come across areas that have premeditated crimes. You will need to do the premeditated crimes in order to gain XP points and thus level up. But you also need to do the premeditated crimes, in order to unlock the Knighthood Skilltree. So you would hit 2 birds with 1 stone after you are done scanning.
I would unlock the Fast Travel Points as soon as Lucius Fox’s mission pops up on the Evidence board. It does after the Mr. Freeze Heist at STARLabs mission.
