How to escape the Labyrinth in Gotham Knights (Court of Owls)

This guide will help you solve the puzzles and show you how to escape the Labyrinth of the Court of Owls in Gotham Knights. Here you’ll find also tips on how to fight and beat the Talons and Gladiator Talons!

The labyrinth in Gotham Knights was one of the most frustrating missions so far. It all started when you and the Penguin closed a temporary deal to battle the Court of Owls.

It begins with a distress call from the Penguin

The Penguin sends out a distress call to the Gotham Knights. His office is being torn apart and his henchmen are getting killed.

When you arrive at the office, you see Penguin hanging on the wall of his own office with his own umbrellas. He tells the story about you or him and he chooses himself. What else do you expect?

As you free the Penguin the room gets gassed and you lose consciousness. You wake up elsewhere and this is the start of hell.

How to avoid traps and dangers in the Labyrinth

You wake up in a labyrinth and it is time to get out. The walls are solid but since your AR Scanner doesn’t work you can’t scan for anything like exits, weak structures, or potential traps. And that last one would have come in handy.

The Labyrinth has spikes from the walls. But they are recognizable because of the holes in the wall.

As you progress through the labyrinth, the Court of Owls still has you gassed and speaks of doom that you are unable to stop.

On top of that, the gas has your character hallucinating. It’s the Court of Owls’ way to break your spirit.

In Batgirl’s case (because that’s the character I played with through this bit), she sees her own dead body. An opened grave from Bruce. Her father’s old office. And she hears the voice of Jim Gordon. All that is pretty horrific and twisted.

That’s what the Court of Owls does: They twist everything you stand for. This part is especially hard on Barbara since she is still in mourning the loss of both Bruce Wayne / Batman and her father Jim Gordon.

At the end of the Labyrinth, there is a door that ends the first part of the mission.

Open the door and you will see a humungous statue of an owl.

How to get out of the room with the owl

The room you entered has two doors. The one that just closed behind you. And there is a door on the left.

Furthermore, the room has two pressure plates on the floor and two on top.

The puzzle can be quite frustrating for many because it’s time sensitive and even though there is no timer when the Owl’s fire goes out, you will need to start over. And if you fail, you will have to deal with these pesky talons.

Step 1
Get to the Owl across the room using your grapple.

Step 2
Go to the left pressure plate on the ground and step on it.

Step 3
Then go to the right pressure plate on the ground and step on that one.

Step 4
Go back to the ledge above the entrance and grapple up. The Owl’s light will open a door that will let you get out so step into the light and go through it. It’s a secret door, so you won’t see it when you first get in.

Once you go through that door, strap yourself up for a wild ride. It’s one of the most breathtaking experiences in the game.

How to defeat the Talon and Gladiator Talon

The first new enemies you will encounter are the Talons and the Gladiator Talons.

How to defeat a Talon

The talons are masters of Perfect Evade. You can’t hit them directly because they will evade EVERYTHING perfectly and they hit you back fairly quickly.

It’s not always dodgeable and they have a DoT (Damage Over Time) which will corrode your health bar over time.

The dot is recognizable as a flask with a green circle around it.

A medpac usually cleanses the DoT but medpacs are scarce and you still have a long way to go so use them wisely.

So how do you beat them? Use your ranged ability and charge it instead of pressing it instantly. Once it’s charged, it will do an Area of Effect (AoE) causing the Talon to fall backward.

Once he is on the floor, he is vulnerable to direct attacks. So hit them, punch them, kick them until they go down.

How to defeat a Gladiator Talon

The Gladiator Talon is a mini-boss. He comes with a shield and a mace. He hits quite hard and he comes with a self-heal ability.

Labyrinth in Gotham Knights

The Gladiator can hit you with his shield and it is direct damage. If he hits you with his mace, he will put a DoT on you. Which will take health points off of you on top of the hit of the mace.

In order to defeat this mini-boss, you will have to use your heavy melee attack. Ranged is no use because of the shield.

Once you have broken through his defenses, you will be able to hit him. Don’t be shy about using your Momentum Abilities. Use them and use them whenever your Momentum Bar has a block.

Keep hitting him as much as you can. He will try to hit you with the shield and/or mace. Perfect Evade is a blessing in this phase.

Once he has done all his moves, then you hit him with a heavy melee attack + momentum ability or keep hitting him with normal hits mixed with heavy melee and he should go down. And it’s ok to high-five yourself because the Gladiator Talon is a tough cookie to crack.

Interrogate the Scientist

Once you are out, you will have to go through another tunnel but after that, you’ll see the way the Court of Owls manipulated you with the labyrinth because all you see are stages, like that of a play.

It was controlled by mobs and orders were given by The Voice and other members of the Court.

In order to progress, you will need to reset the Backstage Control Panel.

There are a few mobs controlling that and there is a nice bonus when you take them down silently.

Once you have reset the panel then you will have to get across. The road however is blocked by a fuel tank and you will have to find a way to blow it up in order to get to the other side of the field.

To get across you will need to do the following:

  1. Scan the Fuel Tank
  2. Find the Incendiary Pressure Valves
  3. Use your ranged ability to break the valves
  4. Enjoy the show

Once you make it across, go through a small tunnel and you will find the scientist in the next room. He has a question mark above his head and that means that he carries valuable information.

Use your AR scanner, as the hallucinations wear off your AR Scanner works once again, and find the yellow mark of the scientist. Interrogate him by pressing the grab button and start questioning him.

The Scientist tells you that the Talons are not dead people but volunteers who agreed to die in order to be turned into Talons. They are in the room next door and they are in hibernation growth pods. The Court of Owls is building an army of (Gladiator) Talons.

In order to save the city, you will have to blow up the hibernation pods. So take down the operators of the machines and find the controls for the pods. There are two control panels for that. Once you have found them and deactivated them, they will blow up.

After that’s done, some Talons will drop and some others will make their way up to the surface.

There is one thing left to do and that is getting to the surface. But that’s no easy task. You will have to fight 2 last Gladiator Talons and you fight as the place falls apart.

Once you see an opening, grapple up. This will trigger the next cutscene.

Back at the Belfry

Back at the Belfry the Gotham Knights discuss the Court of Owls labyrinth. It’s not just made for killing but it’s also to get into a Knight’s head. Hence why Batgirl saw Bruce’s grave open and the late Jim Gordon’s old office and she heard his voice. It’s to break their spirits.

And it works, as Tim Drake / Robin starts to talk about killing the Court of Owls, Alfred intervenes and reminds the Gotham Knights that Batman never killed anyone either and neither should the Gotham Knights.
