Holidays are just a few weeks away, with Black Friday and Christmas offers it’s probably the best time of the year to get a nice Star Wars present for yourself or your loved ones.
In this shopping guide, I’ll cover options for all types of budgets so anyone can get a cool present regardless of how much they can spend.
This is not a sponsored article, I have purchased something from almost every vendor listed below, and I’m only suggesting well-known sellers with a positive reputation. None of the links are affiliates.
Toys and Collectibles
The amount of Star Wars toys and collectibles is absurd, thousands of products have been released since the release of A New Hope.
Some of them are extremely rare and expensive, items that any hardcore collector would dream about, but I’m not going to talk about those holy grails here. Everything mentioned here is relatively easy to find, picking a gift for someone is already difficult enough.
Hasbro’s Black Series
Hasbro’s Black Series are some of the most popular figures, you can find all of your favorite characters and others that only appeared for seconds in a movie. If you want to recreate your favorite scenes this is what you’re looking for.
Buying individual figures can be annoying when you don’t have a lot of time, to save you the trouble there are packs with multiple figures.
This one includes Din Djarin (The Mandalorian, Grogu, and Ahsoka. Its current price is $66 USD. If you use Chrome as your web browser, you can install an extension called “Keepa” to track the price history on Amazon.
Funko Pops
Loved by many and hated by others, Funko Pops aren’t for everybody but no one can’t deny that there are an incredible amount of characters available. Most of them are inexpensive and small-sized, which makes them very easy to display in places where you have limited space.
This Darth Maul‘s red lightsaber glows in the dark, as well as the lave under him. It’s worth mentioning that this is “exclusive” and you won’t find it in every store, it retails for $30 USD. You can find many others that are cheaper at the Funko Pop Site.
Busts and statues
Some of the craziest, most detailed, and over-the-top collectibles are statues and busts. The artists who make this put so much attention to detail, from the texture of the skin to the color of a simple rock, these are works of art and that’s why they can be the centerpiece of anyone’s collection.
This 1:10 scale Jabba the Hutt statue by Iron Studios is incredible, made in Polystone and painted by hand, this piece is going to capture the attention of everyone that walks by. The price of this limited edition statue is $545 USD, it’s a very expensive article but if you can afford it I doubt that you’re going to regret it.
You can check out more products of the same quality on the Sideshow website.
Ships
Ships are a core element of the Star Wars universe, the opening scene in a New Hope features the Tantive IV and an Imperial Star Destroyer. Since then, many ships and vehicles have joined the lineup and become fan favorites.
There are many lines of ships; the Vintage Collection series, Action Fleet, Hotwheels, and Hasbro Black Series are just a few of them. Many of these were released a long time ago and they’re either hard to get or expensive, for this reason, I’m going to recommend the Micro Galaxy Squadron by Jazwares.
This is a brand-new series so everything is super easy to find at your local Target, Amazon or Walmart. They’re scaled, compact, and include mini-figures of our favorite characters from all Star Wars eras.
The Millennium Falcon is the biggest and most expensive one so far, it can be yours for $45 USD. It features light-up thrusters, motion activation sounds, and lots of inside details.
Lightsabers
An iconic weapon that can be displayed in both fierce and gracious ways. The symbol of the Jedi Order and something that probably every Star Wars fan has dreamed about owning.
If you have a small kid, the lightsaber toy sold by Disney is perfect, it includes the hilt, blade, and even a belt clip. This lightsaber has a good amount of features considering its price of $34.99 USD; a humming sound when activated, motion sensor-controlled effects, and a glowing blade make it the perfect saber for your youngling.
If you want a more authentic feel without spending thousands of dollars, a Black Series Lightsaber could be what you’re looking for.
There are some variations depending on which model you get, but they all have sound effects (ignition, clash/duel, humming sound), a blade that lights up (removable in the more expensive Elite series), and an incredible amount of details.
Slowly but surely, Hasbro has released some of the most iconic lightsabers, and unless you’re looking for something too specific there’s probably one for you; the lineup includes lightsabers used by Mace Windu, Rey, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia Organa, Darth Revan, Emperor Palpatine, Kylo Ren, Darth Vader, and even the Darksaber. Prices for the Black Series Lightsabers go from $174.99 to $278.99 USD.
LEGO sets
LEGOs fall into the toys and collectibles category but they require their own sub-topic. It is not only the best gift for a LEGO fan but building it together with someone makes it a bonding experience; parents, siblings, other family members, or your significant other. It’s surprisingly fun to build it together and it’s the perfect opportunity to get closer to your loved ones.
There’s a set for every budget, from $9.99 to a whopping $849.99 USD. You can spend a few minutes building it or an entire week, it all depends on how many pieces there are and your perseverance.
An option that is a good midpoint is the Inquisitor Transport Scythe. It has a unique design that anyone that loves Sith ships is going to enjoy. It retails for $99 USD, and it includes four awesome Minifigures; Reva, the Grand Inquisitor, the Fifth Brother, and Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi.
Not all sets are meant to be played with; the dioramas, droids, helmets, and Ultimate Collector Series sets (UCS) are just for display. If you want a playable set, practically everything other than the ones mentioned above is a good option. Check all LEGO Star Wars sets currently available on the Lego site.
I have reviewed BD-1, the AT-TE, and the UCS Razor Crest sets. If you’re thinking about getting one of these it might be helpful to read them before making a final decision.
Clothes and accessories
Not everyone is into toys/collectibles. I’ve known many people that love Star Wars but don’t have the space or interest to buy them. If this description fits you or someone you know, perhaps something to wear is a better choice.
Loungefly
Loungefly has a wide variety of products that look good, and are functional, it will grab everyone’s attention as soon as you walk by. There’s an endless list of bags and wallets inspired by characters from all Star Wars media; Original/Prequel/Sequel Trilogies, Rebels, Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, and even the Expanded Universe.
The coolest thing is that you can have matching products. This is Leia’s shoulder bag and wallet inspired by the outfit she uses in Hoth. At the time of this post, the bag is $80, and the wallet is $40 USD. You can check some of their products on their website, but Amazon has more available items at the moment.
Her Universe
Her Universe is Ashley Eckstein’s (Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars) brand, it was grown a lot in the last few years and its stock is pretty substantial. There are hoodies, shirts, hats, dresses, backpacks, gloves, beanies, you name it. You can pick something for all the different members of your family regardless of age or how much they’re into Star Wars.
For example, this cape is inspired by Ahsoka’s outfit in the last episode of Star Wars Rebels, at the time of this post its price is $52 USD. There are usually good discounts on Black Friday so be sure to check them out.
Ugly Sweaters
If you prefer to give something that is more directly related to Christmas, an ugly sweater is one of the best options. The cold weather makes it perfect to wear a Christmas sweater with your favorite Star Wars characters on it.
There are many brands and models; I found this Grogu sweater on Amazon, it’s too funny and ugly not to be considered, it retails for $39 USD.
Star Wars Books
Star Wars books are overlooked by a lot of people, it’s probably not the first thing anyone thinks when they hear “Star Wars” but you might be surprised by how good some of them are. Some of them are very easy to read while others require previous knowledge to fully understand them.
If you want to enroll in a long adventure full of highs and lows, The High Republic books are perfect for you. The golden age of the Jedi Order, where hyperspace routes are being discovered and new enemies emerge from the dark.
Not everyone has the time or intention to explore a completely new era of the Star Wars universe.
If you prefer to learn more about characters that you’re more familiar with, then Shadow of the Sith is a very good option.
It takes place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, Lando and Luke join forces to find answers about the mysterious planet we know as Exegol. I have reviewed Shadow of the Sith.
Jewelry
For those who might be looking for something fancier that you can wear on special occasions, a ring or necklace is the best option.
Star Wars Fine Jewelry might have something for you, there’s currently an early access Black Friday sale with 20-50% off the entire site, it will last until November 23 so there’s plenty of time to pick something.
This R2-D2 ring is very discrete but recognizable enough for anyone that is into Star Wars. It features garnet and created blue sapphire, the ring is made of sterling silver. It retails for $250 USD (this price doesn’t include the discount).
A Jedi Order ring with a diamond band, a 10k yellow gold Jedi Order symbol, and sterling silver. If I had a girlfriend that was really into Star Wars this would be a top contender. It’s currently selling for $300 USD (not including the discount).
These are only two examples of what you can find on their site, there are many other options with higher and lower price tags.
