List of Semiconductor locations in Chapter 9: Semiconductor Location Guide.

Be sure to gather the collectibles here while you can as you’ll only have this chapter to do so.

Eject the Nuclear Warhead

When you board the Valor, Hammond will tell you that there’s an unstable nuclear warhead that you’ll need to stabilize and eject. So before you can find your way to the Singularity Core, you’ll need to disable this warhead before something sets it off.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

You’ll find yourself in a hallway with a necromorph that pops down from a ceiling vent at the end. This one is very fast and very twitchy, this is the Twitcher Necromorph. These are necromorphs made from the bodies of the soldiers that were on this ship. Their Stasis Module fused with their flesh and enhances their abilities.

This allows them to move very fast and dodge ranged attacks at times as well as making them immune to your own Stasis Module. To defeat them, lay down traps such as the Line Gun’s Laser Trap or shoot their Stasis Module in their chest. This will slow them and any other necromorphs nearby allowing you to shoot off their limbs as per usual.

When you defeat the Twitcher, walk to the end of the hallway and go up the elevator. The power will malfunction and the battery will be ejected and rendered useless. Go inside the Briefing Room right next door to find another battery. Bring this battery to the slot and power the elevator. Take the elevator to reach your next destination.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

While on your elevator ride, you’ll get a video call from Dr. Terrance Kyne. The conversation is short lived as Isaac’s patience with Unitologists has long since run out. The call ends and you’ll gain access to the floor with the Torpedo Bay.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

The Torpedo Bay is a particularly dangerous room as one wrong move will set off the nuke and destroy everyone aboard. Before you can proceed, you’ll need to destroy the 6 fuse boxes linked to the control panel.

Exploders will come out from the vents at the end of the room. DO NOT SHOOT THEIR EXPLOSIVE PUSTULES!!! If you do, the explosion will set off the nuke. Instead you must sever their arms to defeat them. A higher precision weapon here like the Plasma Cutter would be best.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

After dealing with the Exploders, go to the right side behind the nuclear warhead to find an Exploder and a battery. Defeat the exploder and use Kinesis to bring the battery to the slot on the wall towards the front of the room.

When you’ve done that, return to the console on the center of the room and use it to eject the warhead. With that out of the way you can focus on finding the Singularity Core again.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

Find the Singularity Core

Start making your way to the Armory where you’ll fight a Divider and some Twitchers. If you want you can use the Shooting Gallery here to earn some extra goodies. From the Armory you’ll need to head towards the Infirmary.

This poor guy is barely hanging in there and could really use a leg to stand on. Unfortunately one of his legs has been severed and he will soon perish as you walk by.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

The Infirmary will have a malfunctioning laser surgery device with split beams going across the room. You’ll see a Twitcher try to attack you and show you what happens when you touch the laser beams. Use Stasis on the malfunctioning device and run past it.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

You’ll now be on your way to the Cargo Bay. On the left side of the Cargo Bay, you can actually find the jettisoned escape pod that contained Chen. Unfortunately, a team of elite soldiers given warning about possible infection on the USG Ishimura couldn’t handle a single Slasher. As such, their remains surround the Escape Pod. There’s nothing important here, I just wanted to point out their incompetence.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

Make your way down the Cargo Bay and a quarantine lockdown will begin. You’ll be fighting a LOT of necromorphs here including Slashers, Exploders, Twitchers, Lurkers, and a Brute at the end! There are several Stasis Canisters around the Cargo Bay you can use to slow down necromorphs if you’re low on Stasis charge.

Defeat them all, pick up the Power Node that drops from the Brute and head towards the Engine Room.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 9 Walkthrough

When you get to the Engine Room, you’ll encounter halls with fuel leaks that are igniting the halls. Some of these flames are intermittent while others are constant. Walk past the intermittent flames when they are not active and use Kinesis to pick up the crate.

Use this crate to block the jets of flames and make a right turn to find a circuit breaker. Pick up the other crate with Kinesis to block flames and alternate crates to slowly make your way forward to the circuit breaker.

Use the circuit breaker and power the elevator and the fire suppression systems. This will activate the elevator at the start of the room and extinguish the flames.

Go back to the elevator and activate it to access the upper level. As you make your way to the end of the path another quarantine lockdown will occur. Unfortunately Hammond will be stuck behind the canopy protecting the Singularity Core.

As luck would have it, Hammond encounters Chen but due to the effects of the Marker, Hammond doesn’t initially recognize Chen as a necromorph due to his guilt. He manages to snap out of it and push himself and Chen into the Singularity Core, blowing both of them up.

After Chen and Hammond are blown up, the quarantine will lift and you’ll be able to pick up the Singularity Core.

Escape the USM Valor

When you pick up the Singularity Core, the USM Valor will begin to malfunction and will soon self destruct. This next part is rather simple, all you need to do is run for your life while fighting any necromorphs and avoiding any hazards in the way!

The path is fairly linear but there’s always time to use your Locator if you need to! When you get to the air lock, open it and a cutscene will ensue. Isaac will be blown away by the explosion but will be able to grab a hold of the antenna while its retracting. This allows him to enter the Communications Array safely.

With just Isaac and Kendra left, Isaac will need to reach the shuttle in the Crew Quarters to install the Singularity Core. This concludes Chapter 9: Dead on Arrival.

As you escape USM Valor and return to USG Ishimura, you can use our Dad Space Remake Chapter 10 Walkthrough to get through the main and side mission objectives without worrying you’d forget or miss something.
