The Marvels teaser trailer has finally dropped and there is lots of Kamala Khan, Photon and Captain Marvel to be seen. And Nick Fury too!

The Marvels teaser trailer has finally dropped after being teased for a couple of weeks now and mad speculation by fans about how this movie would tie in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

An Impression Trailer

The Marvels teaser trailer is an impression trailer, meaning that the trailer only shows a few scenes that are not connected and you can’t get much out of context just because there are only bits and pieces.

The Marvels teaser trailer

The Marvels teaser trailer starts off with Monica Rambeau in space. She is near a S.A.B.E.R. space station here Nick Fury is as well. We haven’t seen Monica Rambeau since Wandavision and it is good to see her again.

As for Nick Fury, the last time we saw him it was an actual shapeshifting Skrull so if it is the actual Nick Fury then good for us.

We see that Monica doesn’t fully apprehend her powers yet, so I guess this scene plays somewhere at the start because we see a Monica later in the trailer who does control her powers.

S.A.B.E.R. doesn’t exist in the comics by the way. There is a S.W.O.R.D. that protects Earth from threats from out of space like SHIELD does but in different territories.

Just when Monica is about to make a spacewalk right outside the space station, she is thrown back into space right in front of the eyes of Nick Fury who asks what just happened.

But just when we think it’s Monica, it turns out Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan is in the spacesuit instead of Monica. And Monica is transported to something that looks like a moon.

Captain Marvel is out of the closet

We then switch from Monica to Captain Marvel who we last saw ramming Kamala Khan’s door inside the bedroom of her house. With a surprised look on her face, Captain Marvel looks at the poster of herself that was on the other side of the door.

The Marvels teaser trailer

The story of how she ended up in Kamala Khan’s house remains a mystery but I am guessing it has something to do with the line that is mentioned in the Marvels teaser trailer about how Kamala Khan, Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau are connected in some way, which I am sure will be explained further in the movies.

But it is a nice tease, I mean aside from the names and the comics, I didn’t think that Marvel would come up with the three of them being connected.

And it shows because when Monica and Nick look for Kamala at her house and Kamala activates her powers, they apparently switch places. As in, Captain Marvel flies straight into a table while Kamala watches Goose eat up an army and starts to hurl.

We are a team?

The rest of the Marvels teaser trailer shows a city of unknown origins and Nick Fury preparing for an attack while Kamala Khan wonders if the Marvels are now a team to which Monica and Carol reply negatively. Kamala however is convinced that they are a team.

The questions remain, however, who is the enemy here and who are the Marvels fighting in one of the final scenes?

And was that a Bollywood-like dance? Like they did in The Eternals? It looks mighty beautiful.

The Marvels teaser trailer

The Marvels will premier on November 10, 2023. And I am pretty sure I’ll be camping in front of my computer in order to get tickets online asap.

Personal thoughts about The Marvels Teaser trailer

I found it very interesting to see how the Disneyplus shows of Wandavision and Ms. Marvel are connected to the big screen. Meaning, that I am very happy to see that there is a very clear connection between the Marvel TV shows and movies.

I find it daring and I know Marvel took a big risk. The connection is clear, however, you don’t have to have seen them in order to understand the movies. The same goes for Loki and Ant-Man: Quantumania.

You would have known who Kang was for example if you watched Loki. But even if you don’t know then you will still find out who Kang is by watching the movie.

For a fuller and more immersive experience of the Marvel Cinematic Universe then watching all of it would be best. All the TV shows do is add more depth to the character and the story.

Basically, the same thing Marvel did for their first phase, except with the solo movies of for example Captain America or Iron Man, and now they are replaced with TV shows.

You can watch the trailer here.
