Star Wars Rebels has become a fan-favorite series and Hasbro has finally decided to spoil its fans. After many rumors and teasers, The Ghost has been revealed as the next Haslab project.
Haslab products are crowdfunded projects that require a minimum number of backers in order to get produced. These are considered collector’s items so they’re not cheap but for the greatest collectors, it’s a great opportunity to have one-of-a-kind items.
Here’s everything you need to know regarding its price, features, release date, extras, and more!
Price and release date
The Ghost will not come cheap, at $499.99 USD (price doesn’t include taxes or shipping costs) this isn’t a ship for everyone. Not only because of its price but also due to its massive size! With 28″ width, 34.5″ length, and 13″ height and the capacity to hold up to fifteen figures, The Ghost is something that will require a proper place to display it.
If the required number of backers is reached, production will begin in September of this year.
Please note that this is also the date when you’ll be charged. The exact release date has not been revealed but Hasbro said that the tentative release date is Fall 2024.
Features
Ships of this size (and price) have cool features, great details, and sometimes even easter eggs that will make every die-hard fan feel like they’re five years old.
Some of the most important features are an opening front ramp, removable landing gear, removable panels for interior access, a nose turret, a 360-degree dorsal laser cannon turret, and a docking bay for the Phantom II.
To fight the Galactic Empire any great ship must have enough room to fit a decently sized crew. The main cockpit has seating for four figures and the nose turret has room for one.
The crew quarters have two bunk beds and the Captain’s quarters have a single bed.
There’s obviously room for more figures on the lounge, dining, and game tables.
The Phantom II is the replacement for the original Phantom which was destroyed on the gas planet of Yarma. It has functional landing gear, seating for one figure, and a mini bust of Chopper that can be popped in and out behind the cockpit exterior. I certainly would have appreciated a Chopper figure but this isn’t a deal breaker.
This is a Vintage Collection vehicle and to make sure that it feels like one Hasbro will release it with a proper package design and Kenner branding.
Backing Goals
To make the Haslab Ghost a reality, eight thousand fans must back the project. At the time of the writing of this article, there are already more than four thousand backers and the funding has been available for less than twenty-four hours so I’m pretty confident that the minimum goal will be reached considering that there are forty-seven days left.
If the eight thousand backers goal is reached, The Ghost will also include a Hera Syndulla exclusive Vintage Collection Carded Figure.
The 3.75-inch-scale figure includes a meiloorun fruit, a blaster, and a Kalikori totem.
However, more tiers can be unlocked after reaching a specific amount of buyers.
Tier 1 requires eleven thousand backers. It unlocks an Ezra Bridger figure that includes a lightsaber, lightsaber hilt (unlit), blaster, removable Scout Trooper helmet, and a white Loth-cat.
Tier 2 requires fourteen thousand backers and Kanan Jarrus is the figure of this tier. It includes a lightsaber, lightsaber hilt (unlit), blaster, face mask, and an interchangeable head.
Tier 3 is the last one and it needs a whooping seventeen thousand backers to be unlocked. If fans reach this goal, Zeb will be joining Hera, Kanan, Ezra, and Chopper (kind of).
My favorite thing about the packaging of these figures is that Hasbro used the mural that appeared on Star Wars Rebels.
If you haven’t decided, you can check the official video. In case you decide that the Haslab Ghost is something that must be in your collection, make sure to pre-order it before September 7th, 2023.
