Great toys and collectibles have been revealed or teased at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Ships, lightsabers, and figures that will make your inner child go crazy!
Just when I think my collection is complete, something else is revealed and I can’t help but get excited about some of these new products. Here are the new reveals from Hasbro and Jazwares.
Hasbro
Hasbro has always been a giant when it comes to Star Wars merchandise and San Diego Comic-Con is the best place to reveal some of the upcoming releases. Here’s everything that they showed.
Black Series
The Black Series line has some of the most desired and best Star Wars figures. Movies, live-action or animated series, or videogames, the Black Series has something for every Star Wars fan.
To properly prepare us for the upcoming Ahsoka show, Hasbro is releasing a new Ahsoka figure that matches her look in the series. When it comes to accessories, this figure includes Ahsoka’s white lightsaber and shoto lightsaber.
Live-action Sabine Wren joins the Black Series roster with an armor painting job that matches what we’ll see in the Ahsoka series. The accessories include a removable helmet, two Mandalorian blasters, and Ezra’s green lightsaber.
Hera Syndulla is the last reveal of the upcoming Ahsoka series. Just like Sabine, this figure is designed to look like its live-action version. It has really nice details on the upper part of the figure. Sadly, a small blaster is the only accessory included.
One of the coolest-looking Mandalorians from the Clone Wars animated show is Pre Vizsla. Before losing the darksaber in a duel with Maul, he was the leader of the Death Watch, and his armor depicted this. The Black Series Pre Vizsla figure comes with a blaster rifle, two blaster pistols, a removable helmet, and the darksaber.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian left us with an incredible amount of cool figures: Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves, Boba Fett, and Luke Skywalker to name a few. R2-D2 is Luke’s most trusty companion and it’ll finally be able to join Luke in any recreation of that amazing final scene.
Holiday versions of beloved characters aren’t my cup of tea but I can’t deny that some look very good. This white Ewok with a wooden staff and what appears to be a Porg (correct me if I’m wrong) would look good under any Christmas tree.
Is this Jawa disguised as Santa and Salacious B. Crumb as one of its helpers? These two definitely look like they’re working on something to make every child in Tatooine happy.
A KX Security Droid and a BD unit make a unique couple. When playing Jedi Survivor, BD-1 could hack enemy droids to help him and Cal Kestis. Perhaps this is what happened and now this odd duo are working together.
This Purge Trooper is disguised as a Nutcracker, an iconic figure of Christmas stories. I would have never thought of such a strange crossover but I kinda like it. It comes with a blaster rifle and a golden mouse droid as a companion.
This Mandalorian is my favorite, its blue armor is still very similar to what we’ve seen Mandalorian warriors use while still looking Christmas-ish. The best thing is that it is wearing Star Wars/Christmas-themed armor. Adding the jetpack, blaster pistol, and what I think is an Anzellan.
Vintage Collection
The Vintage Collection reminds us how Star Wars figures were made a few decades ago. This line is great to revive the nostalgia of many of the fans who were present when the first movies were released. Here are the upcoming Vintage Collection figures.
A fan favorite gets a new presentation in the Vintage Collection Series. Darth Revan will get released with his iconic purple and red lightsabers.
The Life Day celebration might not be as iconic as other Star Wars events but it’s certainly something that most die-hard fans enjoy. Chewie is getting released with its Life Day Orb and Robe.
Pre Vizsla will also be released on the Vintage Collection. Obviously, it’s not as detailed as its Black Series counterpart but it still looks very good, and the image of Pre Vizsla from the Clone Wars is great. This version also comes with a removable helmet, the darksaber, and two blaster pistols.
More figures related to the Ahsoka series are joining the Vintage Collection roster. The first one is this regular Ahsoka figure with her white lightsabers.
We might not be getting a live-action Thrawn figure yet but this one from Star Wars Rebels will have to do until we get it. I’m not a fan of Imperial Officers figures but this one is worth it just because it’s Grand Admiral Thrawn.
With so many announcements it’s easy to forget that it’s still the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, this retro pack is part of that celebration. It includes a Gamorrean Guard, Wicket, Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, an Imperial Royal Guard, and even Yak Face!
Army building is a big part of the Vintage Collection. Trooper packs are great ways to amass a small army without having to buy many individual figures. This one has four Imperial Officers, with one being high-ranking. The included accessories are simple hats and blaster pistols.
Last but not least, Ahsoka’s lightsaber will be released as one of Force FX Elite lightsabers. These sabers are the highest quality saber that Hasbro has to offer, they have intense lighting, multiple sound effects and are pretty accurate to what we see on Season 2 of The Mandalorian.
Haslab
For many people, this is the highlight of SDCC. The Haslab Ghost is an amazing ship that is heavily detailed, has a huge size, and can get extra figures if the backing goals are reached.
Disney Parks
This one might have gone under the radar with all the fuzz that the Haslab Ghost caused. Legacy Lightsabers are sold on Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Parks and a special release will be available on the Disney Shop, on July 31st. It is the Cal Kestis lightsaber from Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. There’s already one available but the difference is that this one can change colors.
Jazwares
Micro Galaxy Squadron is one of my favorite Star Wars toy lines ever. The ships are affordable, look great and the lineup is full of ships and vehicles from many Star Wars eras and media.
Direct Purchase
It is no secret that Jazwares distribution for the Micro Galaxy Squadron line has been less than good. Some stores are still fully stocked with Series 1 while other places are already getting Series 4. To address some of these issues, Jazwares is creating a way to directly purchase from them. They have called it “The Vault”.
Items purchased from the Vault are going to have special packaging and some will be exclusive. For example, this Hoth battle pack includes one AT-AT and two Snowspeeders.
To help some collectors get everything they want, full waves/classes are going to be available for purchase from the Vault. The good news is that these include rares and chases, the bad news is that it will be limited to 1500 sets. It is not a perfect solution, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Teasers
While Jazwares didn’t “officially reveal” anything, we got some great teasers of what will be coming out at the end of 2023 and 2024.
From the Ahsoka series, the T-6 shuttle will be coming out in 2024! Though we didn’t learn if it’s going to be on Series 6 or later.
The Phantom I from Star Wars Rebels is another reveal. While it is a good ship, the most exciting thing about it is that it will be compatible with “another ship”. Which we all know happens to be The Ghost.
The AT-TE will be the first Dreadnought Class vehicle! The iconic heavy-armored vehicle from the Clone Wars will eventually hit shelves in 2024!
What are you most excited about? Personally, I’m eager to see the Haslab Ghost but everything regarding the Micro Galaxy Squadron series is always so exciting.
