Assassin’s Creed Mirage has changed its release date to October 5th and the reason behind that might not be what you’re thinking of.
Assassin’s Creed (AC) has become a giant franchise with millions of fans all over the world. With its distinctive mechanics, great visuals, and stories that revolve around historic events it’s almost impossible not to be entertained with the fun gameplay and compelling storytelling.
Needless to say, every AC game is highly anticipated and Mirage is no exception. Surprisingly, its original release date has been changed, and here’s everything you need to know about it.
The New Release Date
“Oh no, another game is being delayed, followed by an apology letter“. This is precisely what I thought and probably many other fans when we learned about Assassin’s Creed Mirage was getting a new release date.
Good news! The game will launch an entire week earlier! It will be available on October 5th (previously October 12th) on all platforms. No delays or unpleasant surprises, the game is ready for launch!
In an industry where products being delayed has become a very common practice, it’s super refreshing to see the opposite. This makes me feel less uncertain about the possibility of finding too many bugs or the game being poorly optimized for PC as it happened with games like Star Wars Jedi Survivor or Cyberpunk 2077 when they launched.
What’s special about Assassin’s Creed Mirage
On top of it being advertised as “ready for launch”, what really has me interested in AC Mirage is the fact that this game makes a return to its roots of stealth gameplay and linear storytelling. “Old School” Assassin’s Creed gameplay and no huge open-world maps that are mostly filled with “filler” content.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the last AC game I personally played. While it was fun, some of its content felt repetitive and didn’t bring much to the story. If what Ubisoft has advertised about Mirage is true, then it is going to be a super fun, entertaining, and not too complex game.
AC Mirage will show Basim Ibn Ishaq’s journey from a street thief to a worthy member of the Assassin Brotherhood. The enemy is the mighty Templar Order, which served as the Catholic Church’s iron fist for two hundred years.
During this period of time, there was zero instability in the region. This makes it the perfect (and worst) moment for Basim to unleash the will of the Brotherhood.
The cherry on top is the fact that it all takes place in Baghdad, an iconic city that is fundamental to understanding the history and development of the Muslim world. It certainly doesn’t get any better!
Getting ahead of the competition
Ubisoft’s decision to release Mirage earlier is a very smart one, October is packed with the release of games that many people are super excited about.
Alan Wake II, Spider-Man 2, Alone in the Dark, and Lords of the Fallen will all launch eight to twenty days after Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Not everyone who plays AC Mirage will want to play Alone in the Dark or vice-versa but it’s good to be the first in line. If things go smoothly maybe the opinions and reviews of the people and media can convince the player to purchase the game (or not).
A quick reminder that there are multiple AC Mirage editions you can purchase, some of them include some good perks for the more casual players while others are specifically for the die-hard fans of the franchise.
