The Ahsoka Series gets a new release date and schedule

The highly anticipated Ahsoka series gets a last-minute release date and schedule changes. Here’s everything you need to know about it!

Last minute changes

With just a few days left before its debut, Ahsoka’s release date and schedule have been changed. Usually, a change in release date would be bad news but thankfully this is not the case.

The two-episode premiere has moved up to August 22nd at 6 pm PT/ 9 pm ET. Also, the following episodes will be released on Tuesdays. This is great news for everyone in the US, not everyone can watch a show at midnight when it’s the middle of the week.

Kids, jobs, or school duties make it hard for many fans to watch it when it is released but with this new schedule, almost everyone can watch it before going to bed. Obviously, not every fan lives in the US but overall I still consider it to be a positive change.

As someone who had to stay awake until 2 am for Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Bad Batch, Andor, and The Mandalorian, it’s great to see that it will no longer be the case for Ahsoka and hopefully any future Star Wars series.

I believe it’s very odd that they change the release date with just a few days left. They’ve done this in the past to prevent the overlapping of Star Wars and Marvel series but I don’t think this is what’s happening here.

Season 2 of Loki isn’t coming out until October 6, and at that point, Ahsoka will be over so we can dismiss that being the reason.

Yesterday (August 17th), Disney held multiple fan events where the lucky attendees could watch the first two episodes of Ahsoka. Spoilers are certainly going to pop up on social media but I also doubt this is the reason for the last-minute changes.

In the end, the motive behind it probably doesn’t matter too much. Thousands if not millions of fans have long been waiting for this series since its announcement. Personally, I haven’t been this excited about new Star Wars media since the announcement of the Knights of the Old Republic Remake (its’ future is clouded at the moment, though).

Just like many of you, I watched The Clone Wars as a kid, and witnessing Ahsoka grow and mature just as I did is one of my favorite Star Wars memories.

For those who didn’t have the opportunity to do the same or got into Star Wars more recently, you still have a few days to learn the most important things about this beloved character with the help of the “How to prepare for Ahsoka” guide.

It will give you tips on what you should watch and in what order. In case you don’t want/can’t watch anything it also includes a summary of Ahsoka’s life since her first appearance in Star Wars up until the events that lead up to this series.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer, I’m almost certain (emphasis on almost) that Ahsoka will be something that many of us will enjoy and hopefully remember very fondly in the future.

What are your expectations about this series?
