The LEGO Star Wars UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser has been finally confirmed! The iconic Republic Cruiser from the Clone Wars is going on sale on October 1st!
The Ultimate Collector Series catalog has the most famous and iconic ships and vehicles from all Star Wars media. Every set is different and while none of them are perfect, they’re still the best thing LEGO has to offer.
The fan-favorite AT-AT, the iconic Millenium Falcon, Luke’s X-Wing, the monstrous Imperial Star Destroyer, and Din Djarin’s Razor Crest (to name a few) are some of the best LEGO Star Wars sets ever released.
For many years, fans of The Clone Wars have been wanting to receive something as incredible as the sets mentioned above and finally, our prayers have been answered.
The Venator Cruiser appeared on dozens of Clone Wars episodes, serving as the flagship model of the Galactic Republic during their conflict with the Confederacy of Independent Systems led by General Grievous.

The set is made of 5,374 pieces. It features detailed areas like the command bridge or the hangar, a built-in display stand with an information plaque, a Clone Wars 20th-anniversary brick, and two minifigures: Admiral Yularen and Captain Rex.
This thing is massive, with over 12.5 in. (32 cm) high, 43 in. (109 cm) long and 21 in. (54 cm) wide. To put things into perspective, it’s just as long as the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer but a little slimmer than it.
As with every set of this caliber, the UCS Venator is all but affordable. The release price is set at $650 (USD), but this price may vary depending on where you live, additional import fees, and tax laws that may apply. For comparison, last year’s UCS Razor Crest was $600 (USD), though it has 6,187 pieces. I’m not sure if the price is “fair” but it’s hard to tell without personally seeing the set.
Ultimate Collector Series sets aren’t considered toys for kids. These are the best that LEGO has to offer. Their size, heavyweight, fragility, and high price make them less than ideal for playing.
One of the good things that LEGO offers is the possibility to buy a cheaper version of most UCS sets. If you want a Millenium Falcon but can’t afford the UCS set you can simply buy a smaller and more affordable Millenium Falcon set.
This isn’t really the case with this UCS Venator set. The smaller version was released in 2009, which means that it’s not only hard to find but its price has probably increased substantially.
As stated at the beginning of this article,e the official release date for the UCS Venator is October 1st, but this is only for those with a LEGO Insiders account. The rest of the public will be able to get it on October 4th.
To be a “LEGO Insider” you just need to sign up on the LEGO official site, you’ll receive points with every purchase and have early access to some products. Most times it’s only by a margin of a few days but that’s still nice.
Personally, I’m super excited about the set but it’s hard to make a decision. The price doesn’t help and I’d have to think of a good way to make the space for it. With many other Star Wars collectibles and toys being released every year, it becomes difficult to justify a purchase of this kind.
Are you getting this set when it releases or will you wait for a few months to see if it gets a nice discount?
