This guide breaks down what’s offered by Last Epoch Editions and helps you determine the best option.
Last Epoch is coming out of Early Access on February 21st, 2024. This also comes with the option for Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions. So let’s cover what each offers to help decide which option best suits you.
Pre-Order Bonus
If you pre-order Any Edition of Last Epoch before February 21st, you’ll also receive the “Golden Guppy” Baby Chronowyrm Cosmetic Pet. This pet is only available by preordering any edition of Last Epoch, and is not available in the shop.
Standard Edition
Last Epoch’s Standard Edition costs USD 35 and only includes the game and pre-order bonus while available. However, since Last Epoch is available as an Early Access title, you get immediate access to the game on its current Early Access Beta patch.
Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Editon costs USD 50 and in addition to the contents of the Standard Edition, the Deluxe Edition includes a few extras in the form of additional cosmetics that are only included with the upgraded editions, as well as some of the game’s Premium Currency, Epoch Points.
If you previously bought Last Epoch, there is also a Deluxe Edition Upgrade available as well, which will only charge you USD 15 for the additional content and does not include the cost of the Standard Edition again. You are still eligible for the pre-order Bonus with this upgrade pack.
After the launch of the Update on February 21st, you’ll get access to the Full Digital Soundtrack, the Adolescent Chronowyrm Cosmetic Pet, the Fallen Ronin Cosmetic Armor Set, and the Firefly’s Refuge Cosmetic Portal, as shown above.
This upgrade also comes with 50 Epoch Points. This is Last Epoch’s Premium Currency which you’ll be able to use in the Cosmetic Shop immediately after purchasing the upgrade. 50 Epoch Points is the equivalent of USD 5 in value.
Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition of Last Epoch costs USD 65 and includes the contents of the Standard and Deluxe Editions as well as cosmetic items that are exclusive to this upgrade tier.
If you previously bought Last Epoch, there is also an Ultimate Edition Upgrade available as well, which will only charge you USD 30 for the additional content and does not include the cost of the Standard Edition again. You are still eligible for the pre-order Bonus with this upgrade pack.
The unique cosmetics included with this edition are the Temporal Guardian Cosmetic Armor Set, the Twilight Fox Cosmetic Pet, the Adult Chronowyrm Cosmetic Pet, and the Celestial Way Cosmetic Portal, shown in the image above. Much like the Deluxe Editon, these items will become available for use on February 21st, 2024.
This edition also comes with a total of 100 Epoch Points, an extra 50 over the Deluxe Edition. Again, Premium Currency you can use for additional cosmetics as soon as you upgrade. 100 Epoch Points is the equivalent of USD 10.
Which Last Epoch Edition to choose
If you’re not sure you’ll like the game or if cosmetics aren’t your thing, the Standard Edition is the clear choice. You get the full content of the game and get a free pet to boot if you pre-order.
If you’re deciding between the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions, however, the Ultimate Edition is the clear winner in the value department. The cosmetics alone are worth the price, easily costing triple if they were bought individually, based on current shop prices for similar items. That does not even account for the additional Premium Currency either.
Deluxe is still a great option, its value being roughly double what the items could cost alone if they were shop offerings. If the additional cosmetics of the Ultimate Edition don’t appeal to you, there’s nothing wrong with saving up for something else later on.
Regardless of which upgraded edition you go for, if you do get one, we highly recommend holding on to the Epoch Points you get along with them for items you want, as there’s not currently a large selection of options, but that’s likely to change after the launch.
