This guide will show you how to solve the No Man’s Land Relic Ruins puzzle and how to get the terminal passcode to get the very rare No Man’s Land Ornament.
What Are Relic Ruins and Ornaments
Relic Ruins in Horizon Forbidden West are optional activities that take you to what’s left of Old World buildings. You must solve puzzles to reach a specific spot in order to obtain an Ornament, one of the game’s collectible items.
There’s a total of ten Ornaments, each Ornament represents a holiday. They can be given to Stemmur in Hidden Ember. He will then project holographic lights on the sky depending on which Ornament you give him.
Relic Ruins: No Man’s Land Walkthrough
The location for the ruins is South-west of Barren Light and South of the Deadfall’s Rebel Outpost. To solve the puzzle you must have the Igniter in your inventory, which is unlocked and obtained after completing the main quest Death’s Door.
Find the small courtyard, there’s a crate and a vent that you can interact with. Leave the vent alone and focus on the crate.
Drag the crate to the opposite corner of its current position. Climb up and head to the wall with Firegleam, and use the Igniter to blow it up. Remember to keep your distance before the Firegleam explodes.
As soon as you enter, you’ll see the locked door that’s hiding the prize of this puzzle. There’s a crate in the next room, to get there jump and glide. It might not look like a long distance but a regular jump won’t be enough to get there.
Move the crate and drop it to the small flooded area. Go down and look around. There are two energy cell terminals and a scannable item nearby, but more on this later.
Use the Pullcaster to pull the metal clamp off the wall. Go inside the hall and walk until you find a second wall with Firegleam. Use the Igniter and step away until the wall is destroyed.
Grab one of the energy cells and take it back to the energy cell terminal that’s closest to the entrance of these ruins.
This terminal will charge the energy cell, allowing it to power up the entire installation. Once it’s charged, you must take it to the other side of the room.
If you touch the water when carrying the energy cell, you’ll get shocked and the energy cell will lose all its power. Aloy won’t take any damage from this but it still requires for you to recharge the energy cell.
To avoid the water, get the crate as close as possible to the edge. Then drop the energy cell on the crate. Sometimes when doing this, the energy cell might lose its charge despite it not being in touch with water or you. To solve this, I simply moved the crate a little bit.
Once you’re sure that the energy cell is safe, move the crate to the other side. Get back to land and then grab the energy cell.
Take the energy cell to the terminal that’s just a few meters away, this will power up the ruins.
Before going to the second floor, scan the purple item that’s near the powered terminal. It’s the only item of this type around, you can’t miss it. Read it in the Notebook to learn the code to open the sealed gates.
This time, you don’t need a key. The code to open the doors is 2204.
The No Man’s Land Ornament will be on the other side of the door. Additionally, you’ll get five thousand XP and two extra skill points.
