This guide will show you how to solve the Restless Weald Relic Ruins puzzle and how to get the terminal passcode to get the very rare Restless Weald Ornament.

What Are Relic Ruins and Ornaments

Relic Ruins in Horizon Forbidden West are optional activities that take you to what’s left of Old World buildings. You must solve puzzles to reach a specific spot in order to obtain an Ornament, one of the game’s collectible items.

There’s a total of ten Ornaments, each Ornament represents a holiday. They can be given to Stemmur in Hidden Ember. He will then project holographic lights on the sky depending on which Ornament you give him.

The location of these ruins is northwest of the Plainsong settlement. To solve the puzzle you must have the Igniter in your inventory, which is unlocked and obtained after completing the main quest Death’s Door. This area is surrounded by Rebels and Clawstriders, be mindful of this.

First, find the train cart that is located a few meters away from the ruins. Push it all the way back until it won’t move anymore. Pull the lever. This will change the direction of the tracks.

Now move the cart to the exact opposite side of the rails. Once there, use the cart as a platform to get to the second floor of the ruins. Don’t forget to loot the Ancient Supply Box. Then proceed to walk over the zipline.

There’s a key module near the edge of the ruins. As you might imagine, this is necessary to gain access to the ornament.

Get down to the floor, and look for the five barrels. After destroying them, scan the item that’s nearby.

Shoot an arrow to unlock the ladder. Use the climbing nodes to get to it and climb up. If you want to earn some extra braggin’ points for yourself, jump to the wall on the right of the ladder, then push yourself from it and grab the ladder.

You’ll see another item. It reveals that the code to open the sealed door is the age at which this facility was built. It hints that the answer can be found by looking at the building. There is an ancient supply box near the door.

The number you’re looking for is on the facade wall next to the spot where you’re currently standing. It reads as 1623, but this is not the right number. By paying attention, you can notice that the “6” fell out of its original place and is upside down. Which means that the code is 1923.

Introduce the key module on the terminal, then type the code to open it. The door will open, but the mission is not over yet.

Run and jump to reach the zipline that will take you to another room. This is the only way to access it. Immediately after landing, you can find another Ancient Supply Box.

A wall with Firegleam is obstructing the path. Use the Igniter to blow the wall. Make sure to step back to avoid getting hit by the blast.

Follow the rails cross this room, time to go out. Go to where you left the train cart and push it all the way back.

After it’s in position, pull the lever again. Doing this will change the direction in which the cart can move. Now, move it to the room where you just blew the Firegleam.

Jump on the train, and use the climbing nodes to get to the spot where the ornament is located. After getting the Ornament, get back to the train and climb to the right side of this area. You’ll find an Ancient Supply Box and an Ancient Supply Chest.

The Restless Weald Ornament provides five thousand XP and two extra skill points.
