This guide will show you how to solve the Long Coast Relic Ruins puzzle and how to get the very rare Long Coast Ornament.

What Are Relic Ruins and Ornaments

Relic Ruins in Horizon Forbidden West are optional activities that take you to what’s left of Old World buildings. You must solve puzzles to reach a specific spot in order to obtain an Ornament, one of the game’s collectible items.

There’s a total of ten Ornaments, each Ornament represents a holiday. They can be given to Stemmur in Hidden Ember. He will then project holographic lights on the sky depending on which Ornament you give him.

Relic Ruins: The Long coast Walkthrough

These ruins are located far north-east of Thornmarsh. To solve the puzzle you must have the Igniter in your inventory, which is unlocked and obtained after completing the main quest Death’s Door.

You can use the nearby campfire as the starting point. Walk to the south-east where’ you’ll find a partially destroyed wall.

Go inside, there is a rusted platform on your left side. Get up there and walk to the end of the platform.

There are many climbing nodes, use them to get to the other side of this area.

You will see Firegleam on the lower level. Climb down and use the Igniter to make a hole in the wall. Stay away from the explosion to avoid taking any damage.

Look in the opposite direction of the hole you just blew. There’s a lever, just must use the Pullcaster on it.

Run out of the room and use the Pullcaster on the grapple point that just moved through the rails. It will only stay there for a few seconds so you must do this quickly.

As soon as you get there, jump to the platform on the other side. There is an Ancient Supply Box on the opposite side of the platform.

Pull the crate that’s in front of you. It must fall to the ground.

Get down and push the crate into the water. Make sure that it goes through the rusted ramp that can be seen in the picture below.

Get to the other side and pull the crate to the ground. Then push it out of this area.

Move the crate into the elevator. As you might have noticed, it requires power to function. An energy cell must be placed in the terminal.

Go upstairs and turn left, then continue until you can’t continue.

Take the energy cell and move it to the terminal that’s downstairs.

It might lose its charge if you take too long, do it as fast as possible to avoid repeating this process.

Go to the elevator and push the button to go up.

Once the elevator is on the second floor, move the crate out. Leave it there and turn to your right. There are some climbing nodes, use them to get to the top of the tower.

There are two small platforms at the top of the tower. Stand at the edge of either of them and use your Shieldwing to glide all the way down to the area where you see another crate. You can find an Ancient Supply Box, Chest, and Greenshine Chunk from this view. Use the focus to scan the area and pinpoint the exact locations.

After landing, you must use the Igniter on the Firegleam to make a hole. Then move the crate through what remains of the wall. Grab the Ancient Supply Safe that’s nearby.

Push the crate you just moved to the first level and then into the elevator.

Do not push the button on the elevator. Instead, go to the second level by using the stairs.

Push the crate that you initially left there on top of the elevator. Then go into the elevator, now you can push the button.

While the elevator moves up, open the vent that’s on the roof. Then jump on top of the crate to reach it.

You are now on top of the elevator. Once again, you must jump on top of the crate to get to the climbing nodes that are in front of you.

The Long Coast Ornament will be at the top. Additionally, you will earn five thousand XP and two extra skill points.
