Battle Passes are a big part of Diablo 4’s Seasonal Experience, offering a variety of free and paid cosmetics. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about the Battle Pass System.
What is the Seasonal Battle Pass
With each Season comes a Battle Pass, which earns you rewards for playing the game. Like many Battle Passes, this one also features a Free and Premium reward track to earn as you play.
The Battle Pass typically consists of 90 Levels you need to progress through to earn rewards. This is done by gaining Favor from the Season Journey, or by just playing the game.
The Free Track earns you rewards every 3 Battle Pass Levels up to Level 88. It mostly comprises of Smouldering Ashes, a currency spent to activate Seasonal Boons. It does include a set of cosmetics, though these do not fully fit the theme of the Battle Pass.
The Premium Track will earn you Cosmetics at every Battle Pass Level up to 90, which includes the levels the Free Track also gets. This will award you different pieces of the Demigod and Awoken Demigod Cosmetic Sets, in addition to other cosmetics. The Premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 Platinum, or the equivalent of USD 10.
There’s also an Accelerated Battle Pass, which will jump you forward 20 Battle Pass Levels, as well as granting an exclusive Emote, like the “Wings of Hell’s Legion” Emote listed below. The Accelerated Battle, however, is an incredibly pricey 2,800 Platinum, or the Equivalent of USD 25.

What is the Season Journey
The Season Journey system is an in-game system that rewards you with useful items and materials as you complete specific in-game Objectives during a season. These Objectives will change each season, often including Objectives that are specific to that season’s Seasonal Mechanic, or completing challenging content. Each Objective awards Battle Pass progress as well, in the form of Favor.
The Season Journey is broken down into 7 Chapters, each with its Objectives and rewards. This usually ranges between 9 and 12 Objectives, with a set of rewards being earned from completing a set number of Objectives. These Objectives become more difficult with each chapter, with the final chapter often asking you to complete some of the game’s hardest content.
All Chapters will track their Objectives even if you’ve not completed a previous chapter. However, you cannot claim the rewards of a later Chapter without finishing the earlier Chapters first. This does not require 100% completion, often letting you choose to skip two Objectives of your choosing in doing so.

How to Finish the Battle Pass Quickly
Finishing Diablo 4’s Battle Pass mostly comes down to playtime, but you can try to do content that allows you to gain as much Favor as possible.
The best way to speed up your Battle Pass progression is to try to overlap your leveling progress with the Season Journey as much as you can. Each of the Season Journey Objectives grants additional Favor, speeding up your progress.
In general, however, you’ll also see just as good of progress by completing whatever grants the most XP, as slaying more monsters also means gaining more Favor. Outside of completing the Season Journey Objectives, Defeating bosses will generally slow your progress.
