Shared Tempered Affixes will increase the value you get from Tempering by using multiple characters. This guide breaks down what they are and how they work so you can use them effectively.
What Are Shared Tempered Affixes
While not explicitly stated, most Tempered Affixes can be shared amongst our roster of characters. This includes everything that isn’t a modifier to specific Class Skills or Class Passives.
While this doesn’t seem huge, several Affixes have value when transferred to other characters. But this only comes into play for endgame optimization.
This is especially true considering we must get multiple characters to World Tier 4. Thankfully that is a much quicker process after Season 4.
If you’d like more information on Tempering, you can refer to our Tempering Guide. This guide goes into more depth on how Tempering works.
How Shared Tempering Works in Diablo 4
These are the requirements and steps you need to make to maximize the effectiveness of your shared tempered affixes in Diablo 4.
Instructions
- Choose two characters from your account
To start this process, you'll need at least two characters. One will be the character that receives the Affix, the second will be the one to craft the Affix. Ideally, both of these characters would be in World Tier 4 as previously mentioned, but having the Legendary Tempering Manuals is the important part. - Find an Affix you want to grab from your first character
Next, we'll figure out which affix we're looking to grab. For this example let's say we want Some Minion Attack Speed for our Sorcerer's Conjurations. Lucky for us, the Necromancer has this stat as a Tempered Affix, so we can craft it on. - Send the item over to your second character.
We'll attempt to Temper the Vulnerable Damage Affix on the item(s). If we're successful we'll have everything we need here. - Craft any other Affixes you need.
From here, you can craft any other Affixes you need from the secondary class, move it to another for a different Affix, or just return it to the class that will be using it. It's very unlikely you'll need to move any particular item to more than one additional character.
Notes
This must be done on the same account, as items become Account Bound after Tempering. This cannot be done to help a friend or to craft items for trade.

List of Useful Shared Tempered Affixes
Below is a list of Affixes that can be used by classes other than the one that can Temper them initially. Though many of these are niche, there are a few that are great all-rounders.
In the case of an Affix having multiple sources, the highest value will be bolded unless they are equal in value and have the same number of affixes in the respective manual.
