This guide focuses on the Titan Ascendancy for the Warrior, covering their Unique Skills and Skill Interactions.
This guide is up-to-date for Path of Exile 2 Update 0.3.0
Titan Overview
The Titan specializes in Slam Skills and inflicting Heavy Stun, giving them excellent Area of Effect (AoE) and Crowd Control.
When a Titan uses Slam Skills, every other use of the Skill will be Ancrestally Boosted further increasing their Damage and AoE. Combined with their ability to more easily apply Heavy Stuns, it’s hard for enemies to survive these powerful slams.
In addition to this, Titans also get good utility and defenses from their Ascendancy choice, if Slamming isn’t our preferred play style. Between increased Armour, increased Maximum Life, and more Inventory space Titans can be extremely bulky.
Stone Skin
Stone Skin increases the Armour from Equipped Body Armour.
While this only affects a single gear piece, it’s a multiplicative bonus on the gear slot with the highest potential for Armour. With the right Affixes, this can lead to a huge gain in Armour.
While not super common, there are Affixes, Passives, and Uniques that can allow this Armour to be applied to Elemental Damage as well, adding more value to this. It’s incredibly hard to stack, but worth doing so when heavily focused on Armour.
Earthbreaker
Earthbreaker grants a chance for Slam Skills used by a Titan to cause an Aftershock, dealing additional AoE damage of the same type.
This functions similarly to a chance to deal double damage, which is why its chance is very low. This makes this good for damage, but not fully reliable. Combined with Aftershock Support this can be a bit more reliable.
The only weird thing is that despite being an Ascendancy, it’s functionally no different than the Aftershock Support. They can be used together for a higher chance, but it’s still an odd choice.
Ancestral Empowerment
Ancestral Empowerment will Ancestrally Boost every other Slam Skill the Titan uses, granting increased AoE and Damage.
This has value by being the only consistent way to gain Ancestral Empowerment. While the Fist of War Support does exist, it’s limited to once every 6 seconds, which means we get to use it far less.
Considering this only affects Slams, it’s not quite as strong, but still useful. If we get lucky and Earthbreaker also triggers on the Ancestrally Boosted hit, it will also double the larger AoE and the increased damage.
Colossal Capacity
Colossal Capacity gives the Titan a chest that gives them 20 Extra Inventory spaces.
This chest is great for keeping any Gear and Gem Swaps or Currency in it since its limited capacity doesn’t allow for much else. It’s also separate from the normal Inventory, making it ever so slightly worse.
The only real drawback this has is that items can’t be quickly deposited into our Stash from it. Ctrl-Clicking doesn’t work, which is the main reason it’s better for gear swaps and other items we’d rather just have on us.
Hulking Form
Hulking Form increases the effect of Small Passive Skills.
While this doesn’t sound all too powerful, it’s one of the best Ascendnacies for the Titan. This is because Small Passive Skills include every small passive on the Passive Tree. This can add up to a ton of extra offensive and defensive power.
The flexibility of what this offers is what truly makes it as strong as it is. Attributes, Attack Speed, Movement Speed, Defences, Attack Damage, AoE; all of these are things we can get to increase character power to maximize the value of this effect.
Crushing Impacts
Crushing Impacts makes all of a Titan’s Hits become Crushing Blows, enabling them to apply Heavy Stun easily.
By itself, this is fairly good defensively, as it allows us to Heavy Stun a bit sooner than normal. This is great for bosses, as plenty of them tend to move around a lot, which makes them harder to stun.
This pairs well alongside effects like Devastate, which will then turn this Heavy Stun into a full Armour Break. This gets even better with the follow-up node for it, Surprising Strength.
Surprising Strength
Surprising Strength gives us a significant damage increase against Heavy Stunned enemies.
This is one of the larger multiplicative damage bonuses available, though the condition can make it less reliable compared to other bonuses. Thankfully, this requires Crushing Impacts, which makes the condition easier to trigger.
Generally, we won’t notice Heavy stun on most enemies, but this can be very impactful for bossing. Heavy Stunning Bosses is already one of the better windows for dealing damage, and this just makes it better.
Mysterious Lineage
Mysterious Lineage increases the Titan’s Maximum Life.
This is one of the very few percentage Maximum Life increases available in POE2, and it’s a multiplicative increase at that. This is a good way to get some extra bulk without giving up too much.
As far as Titan’s Ascendancy Points go, this is a much lower priority, as it will be far more impactful with better gear. It’s still great
