Our Emerald Stair Pargrun Cache walkthrough will show you how to fully explore the area and find all treasure chests and other valuables, including Od Caura’s Grimoire and the Emerald Splitter.
Where is the Emerald Stair Pargrun Cache
The Pargrun Cache and focus of this guide is in an old ruin west of the Ranger Outpost and north of the Overgrown Homestead in The Wildwoods of the Emerald Stair, but there is a second cache to the east called the Pargrun Waystation.
Emerald Stair Pargrun Cache
The main Pargrun Cache is located south of The Delemgan Glade on the western edge of The Wildwoods.
Outside the ruin, you will have to defeat a few generic enemies before you can access and freely explore and loot all the chests inside, including the Pargrun Cache.
Pargrun Waystation
There is another mini Pargrun Cache in Emerald Stair called the Pargrun Waystation that is required for the Gotta Cache ‘Em All achievement and has its own Unique Item.

Treasure Chest 1
Before you enter the ruin, look to the right of the wooden scaffold, drop down to loot a treasure chest.
Enter the ruin
Cross the wooden scaffold and drop down on the ground. To the right of the entrance, you can pick up some generic weapons off the weapons rack. To the left of the entrance, on the floor, you will find Battered Pargrun Journal Day 23.
Take the stairs down. On the lower level, to your left, behind the corner, you can pick up Unfinished Pargrun Journal Day 28 (#1 on the image below). Then unlock the metal gate (#2).
Go through the corridor on the north side of the room. Your companion will mumble that it feels odd here. Use lightning on the plaque to the left of the door to unlock and open it.
If you don’t have a weapon that deals lightning damage, like Caeroc’s Pride or Minoletta’s Conduit, you’ll need to throw an Electric Lily Seed Grenade or wait until you unlock Giatta Castell as a companion and bring her along.
At the end of the corridor, after you take the stairs, turn left. Infront of you, you will see the metal gate that blocks your access to the main Pargrun Cache. You will also have to fight a pair of Shadows here.
Take out the ghosts, then turn around and go into the room to your right. On the table next to the entrance, you will find Bloody Pargrun Journal Day 32. On the next table, there are two grenades. Pick them up. You may need them in a moment.
Treasure Chest 2
Deal explosive damage or throw a grenade at the weak wall directly across the entrance to the room where you picked up the grenades. You will find Treasure Chest 2 inside.
Treasure Chest 3
Exit back into the corridor. As you face the metal gate, turn right and follow this corridor. At the end, aim through the room’s gate and electrify the device to unlock this room. Next to the chest, on a small table, you can pick up Faded Pargrun Journal Day 46.
Pargrun Cache: Od Caura’s Grimoire
Go back to the metal gate where you fought the Shadows earlier. Now take the other corridor; as you face the gates, head to the left now.
Grab Maxims of the Pargrun III from the bookshelf if you like. To the right, you will see a hole in the wall. Use it to aim at and electrify the device on the wall across in the adjacent room to unlock the double metal gates.
Go around through the corridor and enter this room. This is where you can loot the Unique Item in the Emerald Stairs Pargrun Cache. Inside, you will find Od Caura’s Grimoire.
Reward Overviews
Both the Pargrun Cache and Pargrun Waystation feature a Unique item as their reward. The Cache contains Od Caura’s Grimoire and the Waystation contains a Greataxe called the Emerald Splitter.
Od Caura’s Grimoire
Od Caura’s Grimoire combines multiple levels worth of spells ranging from 1-15, each of a different element. You’ll need to be at least level 15 have Grimoire Mastery III to cast all spells from this Grimoire.
Chill Blades
Level 1 Wizard Spell
Ring of Fire
Level 10 Wizard Spell
Returning Storm
Level 10 Wizard Spell
Pull of Eora
Level 15 Wizard Spell
The spellbook has a solid combination of spells, though you’ll find more interesting ones later on. Returning Storm is less common in the higher-level books despite being the most powerful lightning spell.
If you plan to use Od Caura’s Grimoire, I recommend respeccing your ability points and investing 2 into each of its spells. You don’t need the third point for any spell in an equipped Grimoire.
Emerald Splitter
The Emerald Splitter is a Greataxe that deals Poison Damage and can be Enchanted to make Power Attacks apply that Poison to nearby enemies or focus that power into additional Stun buildup upon completion of a Full Combo.
Withering Strike
Power Attacks deal high Poison Accumulation
Rotting Cloud
Power Attacks deal high Poison Accumulation to nearby enemies
Poison the Roots
A Full Combo Attack deals high Stun and Poison Accumulation
Primordial Slaying
+20% Damage against Primordials
Primordials include all of the plant people, like Delemgan and Sporelings.
