How to start Mapping the Living Lands
You’re looking for a man named Sanza in Dawnshore. He has an shop in Paradis Hightown, but first you have to find him next to the first Adra Waystone in the game just outside of Claviger’s Landing. Look for the blue exclamation point (!) on your map.
He’ll tell you about not hearing back from the cartographer he hired to survey Dawnshore and ask you to go find him.
Once you find a cartographer, you’ll need to bring their map back to Sanza at Sanza’s Emporium in the High Market district of Paradis Hightown in Dawnshore.
Cartographer Locations
Each region has a missing cartographer. You can get a clue about their whereabouts and obtain the corresponding “Mapping the Living Lands” quest by checking the Bounty Board in each city for a dispatch.
It is not necessary to pick up the Dispatch. The quest will also intiate normally if you find the cartographer in the field.
Dawnshore Map Location
The cartographer is dead. You’ll find his corpse at Usher’s Hand in the Southern Embrace, east of Paradis.
Emerald Stair Map Location
The cartographer in Emerald Stair is also dead. This one is at Naku Tedek by a cliff near the Xaurip camp overlooking the ocean.
Shatterscarp Map Location
Once again, the cartographer is dead. Shatterscarp’s cartographer’s corpse is located on a small peninnsula at the southeastern edge of the Great Sand Sea, south of the Twin Offerings Overlook.
Sanza’s negligent hiring practices are now readily apparent.
Galawain’s Tusks Map Location
The fourth cartographer, the one who was sent to Galawain’s Tusks, the most dangerous region in The Living Lands, is, somehow, alive. Unfortunately, he’s in jail. You’ll find him on the second floor of Soreena’s Mercy, the Pargrunen structure outside of Solace Keep.
Mapping the Living Lands Rewards
Each time you give Sanza a map, he’ll give you a small reward like a piece of Awakened Adra. No, you do not get the region’s map revealed more completely.
The fog of war never goes away, even after you give him all 4 maps. Instead, he’ll give you the Ring of Many Stars, which just gives you access to a spell called Minoletta’s Seeking Stars.
Ring of Many Stars
Minoletta’s Seeking Stars
Cost: 40 Essence
Cooldown: 300 seconds
Conjure 8 magical homing projectiles that bounce between targets
Each projectile deals about 60% more damage than even the fully-upgraded and similar-looking Minor Missiles spell (lvl 1 Wizard ability), but it has such a ridiclously long cooldown that it isn’t worth wearing, especially as a Wizard.
