Avowed: How to Open the Treasure Room Door in Mt. Forja

Endonae by Endonae|

There’s a room with a bunch of treasure chests inside Mt. Forja behind a barred door that is seemingly inaccessible, but there’s an easy way to get inside and grab the Unique Greathammer!

Where is the barred door in Mt. Forja?

During the Main Story quest “Our Dreams Divide Us Still” in Galawain’s Tusks, you must go inside Mt. Forja to reach the summit. You may have seen that there’s a grated door that bars entry into a room with several chests.

On your first playthrough, you’ll likely also see a ledge just inside the Mt. Forja Mines with a lootable corpse on top via your Compass, suggesting that there is, in fact, a way to get up there.

You’ll need a Cantec, like the one Marius recites to unseal the front door to Razvan’s Cavern of Voices during his quest “Chorus of the Lost”.

How to get inside the barred door in Mt. Forja

There are 2 ways to get inside the barred door on Mt. Forja, the official way that requires you to make certain choices in a specific order, and the unofficial way that anybody can do.

Official Way

The official way to get inside the treasure room in the Mt. Forja Mines requires you to support Councilor Kostya’s efforts to begin trading with Aedyr.

You must find the Letter to Ambassador Hylgard next to a dwarven corpse at Warden’s Rest on The Sallow Steppe, and hand it over to Kostya instead of Mihala when you meet them at Solace Keep.

After you speak to Kostya near the elevator following your initial conversation with both Councilors in Solace Keep, speak to Kostya again and hand him the letter. He’ll give you the Cantec you need to open the fancy sealed Pargrunen door at Mt. Forja Quarry that’s also marked on your map.

You don’t need Marius with you to do this, just interact with the door and one of your companions will recite the Cantec.

Unofficial Way

Head inside the main entrance to Mt. Forja Mines in the Mt. Forja Quarry southeast of the Primorial Depths in Galawain’s Tusks. You’ll need to be on the Main Story quest “Our Dreams Divide Us Still”.

The ledge you’ll be jumping to is just inside, though it’s too high to jump to directly. You’ll need to get the level 1 Fighter ability “Charge” while midair jumping from the patch of rocks near the main entrance to Mt. Forja Mines. Respec if needed.

Charge

You do not need the increased distance from the second Rank of the ability, but you do need to activate it at the apex of your jump. Here is where you stand for your starting point inside the Mt. Forja Mines:

Try to line yourself in the middle of the two stalagmite and aim for the indentation in the rock. The idea is to jump forward and then activate Charge at the highest point in the air.

Charge Spot

Charge will take you over to the wall and you should be close enough to the edge that you’ll automatically parkour up. Here is the overall path from up on that ledge looking down at the starting point:

Charge Spot Arrows from Above

If you smack your head into the wall, you were too low. Try again. Reposition slightly and make sure to time your Charge activation at the apex of the jump. You might have an easier time with higher movement speed.

Other players have reported that using speed boosts like Fresh Water and Giatta’s Acceleration are enough, but I have personally found it much easier to use Charge.

Mt. Forja Barred Door Treasures

There are a few treasure chests that hold money, generic equipment, and materials, but the big reward is a Unique Greathammer called Forge’s Friend.

Forge’s Friend

Forge’s Friend is a powerful Greathammer that summons a Greater Fire Blight when you do a Special Attack (max out the Stun gauge) and can be Enchanted to make Power Attacks deal Fire Accumulation to nearby enemies or, after a successful Parry, improve your mobility.

The name of the Unique Weapon, its lore description, and its location beneath the monument to Nandru suggest that it’s associated with The Floating Foundry.
