Avowed: All Unique Weapons in Galawain’s Tusks

Including those added in Update 1.5, there are 16 Unique Weapons scattered across Galawain’s Tusks, the 4th region in Avowed. We’ll show you what each one does and where to find it.

One-Handed Melee Weapons

There are 5 Unique One-Handed Melee Weapons you can find in Galawain’s Tusks, including a Mace, a Spear, a Sword, an Axe, and a Dagger.

Battletrance (Mace)

If you enjoy finishing blows but hate how slow everything feels in the Fighter tree, Battletrance is for you! Ability Cast Speed is increased and you can Enchant it to make Power Attacks increase your Attack Speed and heal you and your companions.

Alternatively, you can give up the Attack Speed boost and heal in exchange for some Damage Reduction after doing a Full Combo.

You can loot Battletrance from a table in a room within the Cavern of Voices at the Lost Village in the Primordial Depths during Maurius’ mission “Chorus of the Lost” in Galawain’s Tusks.

Ryngrim’s Impaler (Spear)

Added in 1.5, Ryngrim’s Impaler is a Unique Spear that deals Frost Damage and can be Enchanted to make Full Combo Attacks deal low (!) Frost Accumulation and slow the hit enemy or make Weak Point hits deal moderate Frost Accumulation and instantly shatter Frozen enemies.

You can purchase Ryngrim’s Impaler from Quartermaster Yorgu inside (or outside, if applicable) Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks.

Sheda Le Subi (Axe)

Sheda Le Subi is the axe used to chop down the tree referenced in Sapadal’s Memory. It’s lightning-themed with the option to Enchant it to concentrate high Shock Accumulation into a single enemy with Power Attacks or spread out moderate Shock Accumulation to nearby enemies upon completion of a Full Combo.

You can dislodge Sheda Le Subi from the web-covered tree right next to the Memory at the Restless Cavern on the southern edge of the Slumbering Fields in Galawain’s Tusks.

Meteor Blade ▶ Ondra’s Offense (Sword)

Ondra’s Offense is a One-Handed Melee weapon that deals Frost damage. Contrary to its name, Ondra’s Offense is much more of a defensive weapon that synergizes best with a hybrid Fighter-Ranger build.

Crashing Tide is tantalizing, but Tidecaller’s Revenge means your opponent will likely be Frozen when they get Stunned, making your Special Attack even stronger.

Ondra’s Offense pairs well with any of the Legendary Unique Shields available in Galawain’s Tusks, with Bastion of Solace perhaps being the best.

Forgemaster Dela at Solace Keep can take 1 fragment of Starmetal and forge it into the Meteor Blade and use another fragment to upgrade it into Ondra’s Offense. Check out our Starmetal Guide for more details.

Umbral Needle (Dagger)

The Umbral Needle is a Unique Dagger that lets you deal more damage to enemies with max Health and can be Enchanted to either steal life from enemies you damage or increase your Attack Speed on Special Attack kill.

The vampire angle is cool, but it’s a waste to open with a Dagger attack since each hit is so weak. Black Wind is also way too weak for the ridiculous condition you have to fulfill.

You can loot the Umbral Needle from a treasure chest nestled in a corner of the Ash Forest west of The Living Archives in Galawain’s Tusks. It is the treasure referenced in The Blade That Hungers Treasure Map.

Two-Handed Melee Weapons

There are 3 Unique Two-Handed Melee Weapons you can obtain in Galawain’s Tusks, a Greathammer, a Greatsword, and a Greataxe.

Forge’s Friend (Greathammer)

Forge’s Friend is a powerful Greathammer that summons a Greater Fire Blight when you do a Special Attack (max out the Stun gauge) and can be Enchanted to make Power Attacks deal Fire Accumulation to nearby enemies or, after a successful Parry, improve your mobility.

You can loot the Forge’s Friend from a chest behind a barred door inside the Mt. Forja Mines in the Mt. Forja Quarry in Galawain’s Tusks, accessible only while on the Main Story quest “Our Dreams Divide Us Still”.

Grand Conductor (Greatsword)

The Grand Conductor is a Unique Greatsword that deals Shock Damage and can be Enchanted to boost your Attack Damage and Attack Speed on kill or substantially reduce the cooldown on Fighter abilities on kill.

You can pluck the Grand Conductor from atop the giant skull near “Bounty: Mater Mare” at the Writhing Ruins east of the Shatterscarp Gatehouse in Galawain’s Tusks

Limb-Taker (Greataxe)

Limb-Taker is a Unique Greataxe that you can Enchant to lean hard into Bleed Accumulation or increased Attack Speed. Either way, it’s perfect for a particularly vicious Envoy.

You can loot the Limb Taker from Grakohr the ogre in a cave at The Sallow Steppe in Galawain’s Tusks that shares his namesake, but you only get it if you choose to fight him.

If you choose to help him with his illness instead, you’ll get the Stoneheart Amulet.

Shields

There are 3 Unique Shields you can obtain from Galawain’s Tusks.

Bastion of Solace (Shield)

The Bastion of Solace is a powerful Unique Shield that boosts your Maximum Health and Stamina and has a chance to deal Fire Damage to the attacker when it blocks something.

You receive the Bastion of Solace from Mihala if you speak to hear in front of the Forge in Solace Keep after you make the critical choice to open the sluice gates beneath the Keep during the mission “Our Dreams Divide Us Still”.

Sun of Black Heaven (Shield)

The Sun of Black Heaven is a Unique Shield that significantly increases your Maximum Essence and allows you to recover it via blocking.

You can purchase the Sun of Black Heaven from Quartermaster Yorgu, the Merchant in Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks.

Time’s Tarnish (Shield)

Time’s Tarnish offers some solid boosts to survivability, enabling you to block for longer and stop more melee damage from coming through.

You can loot Time’s Tarnish from a chest at the bottom of a ruined Godless tower along the lava river separating Twinedwood from the Slumbering Fields. It is the treasure referenced in the My Loyal Shield Treasure Map.

Bows, Pistols, and Arquebuses

You can obtain 1 Bow, 1 Pistol, and 1 Arquebus from Galawain’s Tusks.

Ancient Alacrity (Bow)

Ancient Alacrity is a Unique Bow that’s all about creating a Move Speed deficit between you and the enemy. You can Enchant the bow to make the hit enemy get slowed for more for longer or slow nearby enemies on kill.

You can loot Ancient Alacrity from a chest in the door on the right in the room with the named skeleton wizard doing something funky with Essence in the Solace Lava Tubes in Galawain’s Tusks. This region becomes accessible during the Main Story quest “Our Dreams Divide Us Still”.

Moonstrike ▶ Heavenstrike (Arquebus)

Heavenstrike is an Arquebus that deals Frost damage. Its enchantments are pretty straightforward; they just apply a lot of Frost Accumulation to nearby enemies.

I strongly recommend against choosing the Lunar Champion Enchantment. The Damage Reduction is small and doesn’t last very long, especially considering you aren’t likely to be near any enemies for a good chunk of those 10s.

Forgemaster Dela at Solace Keep can take 1 fragment of Starmetal and forge it into Moonstrike and use another fragment to upgrade it into Heavenstrike. Check out our Starmetal Guide for more details.

Magic Mistol (Pistol)

Magic Mistol is a magic Pistol because its bullets home towards enemies. Unlike any other weapon in the game, its Enchantments aren’t strict upgrades over the baseline effect, so think before you Enchant the enchanted gun.

You can loot the Magic Mistol from a treasure chest behind a destructible boarded-up door at the bottom of the Ekidan Workshop in the Slumbering Fields of Galawain’s Tusks.

Wands and Grimoires

You can obtain a single Unique Wand and Grimoire from Galawain’s Tusks.

Cruel Command (Wand)

Cruel Command is the Fire Wand. Its Enchantments let you significantly increase Stun to enemies with full Health or reduce the attacking enemy’s Damage Reduction. It lacks strong synergy with any Unique Grimoire, but it’s perfect for the Grimoire of Embers.

If you go with Forced Obeisance, I recommend fully upgrading Blast (level 5 Wizard Passive).

You can purchase Cruel Command from Stockkeeper Eberk, one of the Merchants at the Southern Warden Tower at The Sallow Steppe in Galawain’s Tusks.

Eilara’s Grimoire

Eilara’s Grimoire offers a collection of some of the highest-level spells in the game and the only way to get the strongest Fire and Frost spells in the same book.

Unfortunately, Obsidian decided to give us Spirit Lance instead of Returning Storm, meaning Pull of Eora turns enemies into piñatas rather than trapping them in the ultimate magical cataclysm.

You can loot Eilara’s Grimoire from a chest on the rooftop terrace at the Living Archives in the Ash Forest at Galawain’s Tusks.
