Avowed’s Treasure Maps each give you a visual clue to the location of some powerful gear. We’ll show you what each treasure is and where you can find it in Shatterscarp, the game’s third area.

How do Treasure Maps work in Avowed?
Each region has 3 Treasure Maps, each of which has a picture of a location with an X marking the spot where a Unique Item can be found.
The treasures themselves do not belong to any set and tend to be a bit more eccentric than the rest of the gear in the game, though they can still be worth using.
You can find Treasure Maps next to corpses or buy them from select Merchants for a paltry sum.
You do not need to acquire the Treasure Map to find the treasures themselves. If you’re thorough with your exploration, you can stumble upon the treasures without the map. Since you’re reading this guide, you don’t need to bother with the maps at all.
There is an Achievement, “Pathfinder”, for finding all the hidden treasures across the Living Lands.
Dead Man’s Mail Treasure Map
Dead Man’s Mail Treasure Map leads you to the Necropants.
Dead Man’s Mail Treasure Map Location
You can loot the Dead Man’s Mail Treasure map from a Dreamscourged campsite north of the Twin Offerings Overlook in the Great Sand Sea of Shatterscarp.
Hint: Those are Pargrunen Ruins.
Dead Man’s Mail Treasure Location
Dead Man’s Mail Treasure is in a chest on the second level of the northernmost pargrunen building in Shark’s Teeth in Shatterscarp.
Use a collapsed column on the side as a ramp to get up to the second level.
Necropants Treasure Overview
The Necropants are Medium Scale Armor, meaning they offer 15% Damage Reduction and -25 Maximum Stamina / -35 Maximum Essence. They improve your resistance to Poison Accumulation and give you an ability that lets you summon a Spectre to aid you in combat.

Yes, you’re literally wearing an aumauan’s skin as pants. There is no shirt. Boots are automatically hidden.
Robe of the Arcane Cheater Treasure Map
Robe of the Arcane Cheater Treasure Map leads you to the Robes of Surpassing Brilliance.
Robe of the Arcane Cheater Treasure Map Location
You can purchase the map to the Robe of the Arcane Cheater from a Merchant in a cave near the western edge of the Deadfall Highlands in Shatterscarp.
Hint: The aquatic flora suggests an Ancient Lakebed.
Robe of the Arcane Cheater Treasure Location
Robe of the Arcane Cheater Treasure is located near the Dreamscourge Bounty in the Ancient Lakebed north of the Shrine to Wael in Shatterscarp.
Robes of Surpassing Brilliance Treasure Overview
The Robes of Surpassing Brilliance is Light Robe Armor, meaning it offers +5% Damage Reduction and -20 Maximum Stamina / -10 Maximum Essence.

It is a direct upgrade over the Arcanist’s Gambeson, and its effects make it the best Wizard Armor in the game, at least before you enter the Garden and get the Spiritmender Armor.
It’s a recolor of the Wavebinder Armor, but it doesn’t match the colors very well. I think the Robes of Surpassing Brilliance look best with the Warmage’s Bracers and Messenger’s Boots.

Seafarer’s Boots Treasure Map leads you to the Wavebinder Boots.
Seafarer’s Boots Treasure Map Location
You can loot the Seafarer’s Boots Treasure Map from a dellusional orlan looking out at the Great Sand Sea from a cliff outside of Thirdborn in Shatterscarp.
Hint: The river runs red with sulfur.
Seafarer’s Boots Treasure Location
Seafarer’s Boots Treasure comes from a corpse at the end of the river fork near the Sulfur Mines Basecamp in the Deadfall Highlands of Shatterscarp.
Wavebinder Boots Treasure Overview
The Wavebinder Boots are part of the Wavebinder Armor Set, which works best with gun-focused Ranger builds. The boots make it harder for enemies to cause you to recoil from getting hit.
