What are the Hidden Trails
Hidden Trails are linear traversal challenges in the open world where Naoe has to parkour a difficult terrain from the starting point to the end, where a treasure chest awaits.
Several of the Paths are part of The Assassins story arc for Naoe where she discovers the secrets of the Assassin’ Creed in Japan and her own family’s past and role in all of this.
The Hidden Trails are labeled on the map with red markers and their names start with “Path of …”. You can complete them at any point. There is no combat involved on these Paths (except at the Kii Assassin Outpost). The gear piece you receive in the end, will usually try to match the current level of your character.
There are several visual guides for you to follow to make sure you are staying on the proper path:
- Candles
- Flags
- Painted markings on the rocks
How to start the Path of Serenity
The Path of Serenity starts in the southwest point of Yoshino, in Yamato. The closest Viewpoint is Ominesanji Overlook. Look for the Shinto Shrine, this ancient arc is easy to spot from a considerable distance.

Path of Serenity Walkthrough
After climbing the first ledge and using Naoe’s hook, you will end up next to a hollow log. If you are playing during the night it’s hard to notice but you can crawl and go through it.
Remember that lamp posts indicate the path to follow. You have to jump from one branch to another and walk over a rope before getting to a point where you need to use Naoe’s hook again. Continue until you see an odd ladder made of bamboo, use it to get to the top of that wall. Then pass through the small gap, and you will see a huge log that can be used as a bridge.
Cross it and turn right. After a few obstacles, you’ll have to perform a double jump using Naoe’s hook. Then continue jumping over ledges, and rocks before running into some stairs.
Reminder: Jump off the hook when you are arriving at the high point of your swing to make the perfect transition or Naoe might slip and fall.
Pass the stairs and continue going uphill for a couple of seconds, you will find the treasure chest behind a rock that’s been split in two. It contains the epic Crimson Tanto of Harm.
