Meet Tokugawa Ieyasu who he and his Igan defenders are cornered by the Mitsuhide clan’s soldiers. You’ll find him in southeastern Yamashiro at Uji Tawara.
When you arrive, you’ll find the Igan under attack. Kill all enemies in the area then meet Tokugawa. After the cutscene, follow then talk to Hattori Hanzo.
He’ll tell you to go to Settsu and look for a large kofun [tomb]. This will complete the quest and start Secrets of the Blade.
Secrets of the Blade
You must reach the Tomb of the Ancients in Settsu. It’ll be in Izumi Coast and east of Sakai.
Look for the small crack on the left of the tomb and find clues about Tsuyu within the Kofun.
Going deeper into the kofun will have you find another crack to slip through. On the other side you’ll find a clue, a skeleton with an assassin’s hidden blade.
Examine the door Assassin’s Insignia to start a cutscene. Look to the northwest in the altar room and pick up the book.
Talk to Yasuke at the hideout to continue the quest. But before you leave, be sure to check out that armor stand at the end of the hall. Here you’ll find the Apprentice Assassin’s gear set.
When you exit the kofun, you’ll find Yasuke right outside and a cutscene will start. He’ll read the book you found and tell Naoe a fragment of Tsuyu’s history.
The quest will finish and you’ll unlock The Assassins quest series.
The Old Kofun has a large treasure chest that will grant you the Amaterasu’s Blessing Legendary Trinket. Our full walkthrough will help you get through the dark tunnels and fully explore this tomb without missing a single treasure.
The Assassin Outposts
You’ll have quests to find the Omi Assassin Outpost, Iga Assassin Outpost, Yamato Assassin Outpost, and the Kii Assassin Outpost.
Each of these outposts have a level requirement of 18, 23, 29, and 35 respectively. These will require parkour challenges for Naoe and offer good rewards in return.
There is no combat involved on the Paths leading to the Assassin Outposts. The levels are recommended as such because of the regions in the open world where the Hidden Trails are located.
Upon completing the outpost investigations, you’ll gain the quest The Meaning of the Blade.
The Meaning of the Blade
Your final task for the Assassins questline is to reach the Sakafuneishi ruins. These ruins are in Yamato, east of Asuka Rocks, and are at the Asuka Rocks Basin.
After the cutscene, you’ll need to find what lies within the ruins. Go down the stairs, go to the right of the Assassin banner, and examine the three empty altars.
After the cutscene, question Hattori Hanzo. After the conversation, you can choose to Forgive Hanzo or Attack Hanzo. After you have done either option, you’ll get another cutscene and the credits will roll. If you have not yet finished Yasuke’s journey quest line, the credits will roll after it.
Wrapping the quest chains for Naoe, Yasuke and Junjiro will task you to speak to Tomiko at the Hideout. This is the wrapping up quest and it will reward you the red Master Assassin set.
