The Shinbakufu are the primary targets you’ll need to track down in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will provide the prerequisites to reaching them, where you can find everything and everyone, and all rewards you receive from every quest.

To make this walkthrough easier for you to consume, we will focus only on the important parts, like locations you need to visit and NPCs you need to discover following in-game clues.
We will show you the exact location on the map for every objective as well as recommendations for what choice to make if and when you are presented with such.
The Onryo Samurai
This member of the Shinbakufu is found in the starter level, The Onryo Samurai. This target is impossible to miss due to it being the starter level of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The Onryo Samurai
The Onryo Samurai has taken the box Naoe retrieved in the kofun. Retrieve the box at Katano Castle. Climb the tower to get inside Katano Castle.
Follow the tutorial prompts that appear as you navigate the castle. You’ll go through a couple of boxes until you find the samurai that stole yours.
Climb up the walls to reach a high place to observe the Onryo Samurai. When you’re on the pole attached to the roof, jump down to assassinate the Onryo Samurai and retrieve the box.
Escape Katano Castle and watch a cutscene. Welcome to Assassin’s Creed Shadows!
The Wounded
To start tracking The Wounded, you must first complete The Fatherless Monk quest. You can begin this quest after completing the quest From Spark to Flame.
The Fatherless Monk
You can find the Fatherless Monk at Gansenji Temple. This is south of Sakai and west of Izumi Coast. Once you reach the temple, kill all enemies there then talk to Kyonyo.
Stolen Faith
Find Mitsumune in Izumi Settsu, he’ll be north of Amagasaki. He’ll send you to find a statue before he’ll help with the fight against Wada Koretake.
The statue was taken to Senri Hills, it is at a Toneyama Post Town, and is guarded by bandits. You’ll find the statue in a room guarded by a bandit wielding a kanabo.
Once you have retrieved the statue, return to Mitsumune to complete the quest.
The Killing Field
You’ll need to kill the executioner. He is in Izumi Settsu, west of Amagasaki, and is at Nanatsumatsu. Go east from the river near Nishinomiya Shrine Town to find him.
Defeat the executioner, Shindo Hiroshii, to retrieve the Executioner’s Letter and learn Wada Koretake’s location.
Heads Will Roll
Talk to Kyono when you are ready to fight. Once the battle at Amagasaki Castle starts, kill the snipers at the gates. With the snipers down, you can assassinate Wada Koretake.
Upon completing the quest, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Kusarigama – Death Whisperer
- Engraving – Extra Damage After Colliding
- Shinran Statue decorative item
- 240 mon
The Golden Teppo
Your first task to finding The Golden Teppo is to complete the Searching Sakai quest. You can begin this quest after completing the quest From Spark to Flame.
Searching Sakai
Find and talk to the gunsmiths in Sakai. Sakai is in western Settsu, the gunsmiths are in central Sakai, and they are in the Firearm District.
When you reach the gunsmiths, you can eavesdrop on them. Talk to them and you can convince them that you’re with the Imai and that you know his son.
You can also pay 500 mon for the contracts, or select “You’re wasting my time” to chase him down yourself to get the contracts.
After receiving the contracts, talk to Imai Sokyu. He is in western Settsu, in southwestern Sakai.
A cutscene will play and you’ll meet Imai Sokyu’s son, Imai Sokun. You’ll give him one of three fake names, remember which one you choose as it’ll come into play later.
Dress for Success
You will need to acquire a kosode. They are sold in southwestern Sakai. Talk to the woman in green next to the pot filled with blue liquid.
She is out of usable materials due to pirates interrupting silk shipments. Retrieve the silks by boarding one of the ships to the northwest.
Return to the kosode merchant once you have the silks. You can choose the red or black silk and the merchant will make you a kosode.
The Perfect Gift
You will need to talk to a tea merchant. You can find one in the northern part of Sakai. Talk to him and you’ll be introduced to Sen no Rikyu.
Follow Sen no Rikyu to his home to learn the art of the tea ceremony. You must first choose how to bow, choose Bow Halfway.
The cutscene will continue and you’ll be given three choices to present as a gift: a gold-trimmed teapot, a tea-leaf jar, or a bamboo ladle. Choose any of them to complete the quest.
The Tea Ceremony
After completing Dress for Success and The Perfect Gift, you can return to Imai Sokun to start The Tea Ceremony. After the cutscene, talk to the guests in the garden.
You’ll have the same three names from Searching Sakai to choose from, use the one you used for Imai Sokun. After talking to the guests, join the group to start the tea ceremony.
Bow halfway, turn the bowl right twice, and once the ceremony is over, Confront Wakasa.
Drive the Point Home
Your only objective in this quest is to assassinate Wakasa. While she’s talking, pick up the teppo on the wall rack.
After some dialogue, you can choose “Give me the box” or “I want Revenge”, they’ll yield the same result and you’ll assassinate Wakasa.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Tanto – Shinobi’s Fury
- Pirate Flag wall decoration
- 310 mon
After you complete this quest, you will unlock the side quest Tea Bowls for Rikyu. Depending on your choice in the end, you may or may not get him as a scout for your alliance.
The Fool
To start this chain of quests, you will need to complete the main story quest, Mibuno Showdown.
The Bad Brother
Meet Ise Sadatame at Byodoin Temple. You can find this temple east of the lake in Yamashiro.
Inside Help
You will need to find Ujimasa to get help infiltrating Yamazaki Castle. He’ll be found in the Kyomizu-dera Temple. This temple is east of Kyoto.
Before he’ll help you, you’ll need to earn his trust. Your next objective is to assassinate the Twisted Tree. Return to Ujimasa when you are done and he’ll give you the Yamazaki Castle Gate Key.
Missing Missive
You’ll need to find the messenger to retrieve Ise Sadatame’s letter. The messenger is in Yamashiro, southeast of Arashiyama, and he is on a bridge.
The messenger has lost the letter and claims than an oni took it. You’ll need to go to the bamboo grove behind Tenryuji Temple. Defeat the oni, retrieve the letter, then return to the messenger.
The messenger will translate the encrypted letter, completing the quest.
The Rising Tide
Wait for Ise Sadaoki to arrive at the Iwashimizi Hachiman Shrine. A cutscene will start and you’ll get to see some sumo wrestle. After the cutscene, the quest will be complete.
Lost Honor
After completing the previous quests, return to Ise Sadatame. When you are ready, you’ll begin your attack on Yamazaki Castle.
As Yasuke, kill the castle guards to clear the way for Sadatame. Once the castle guards are dead, you’ll need to unlock the inner gate as Naoe.
When unlocked, you’ll need to escort Ise Sadatame as Yasuke and defend him from the guards. Once you do this, a cutscene will start and your last objective is to assassinate Ise Sadaoki.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Katana – Steel Blossom
- Engraving – Instant Posture After Vault
- 375 mon
The Mourner
To start searching for the mourner, you must complete Yasuke’s quest, An Education. You must also complete the main story quest, Mibuno Showdown.
A Talk With a Lady
Yasuke was invited to the Omi Province by Lady Oichi. She is in Omi, is in southeastern Goshiki Outlands, and is in the ruins of Odani.
When you reach the ruins, Meet Kuma and follow him to Lady Oichi. After talking to Oichim you can continue playing as Yasuke or play as Naoe.
Nagahama Black Powder
The Shinbakufu are looking to destroy a teppo factory and level Nagahama. Find clues in the Teppo Factory to help prevent this.
Once you have found the clues, stop the gunpowder shipment in the lake. Climb up onto the boat uses the ledges found on the back.
Go inside the ship’s room and climb to the highest floor. You’ll find a bomb you can use to sabotage the explosives.
When you sabotage the explosives, escape the atakebune by simply jumping off the ship. A cutscene will start and you’ll complete the quest.
The Price of Rice
Meet Kuma to begin The Price of Rice quest. He is in a town in Omi, in northern Shimmering Fields, and is near a canal.
After talking to Kuma, talk to the farmers to learn about a samurai sleeping in the rice fields. Kill the drunken samurai that is northeast of the farmer you talked to.
Return to the farmers when the samurai is dead and you’ll learn from the farmer that the corrupt daikan lives in Azuchi.
You must then kill the corrupt daikan who lives in Omi, is in a small town in southwestern Azuchi, and he lives in the Daikan Mansion.
Return to Kuma once the corrupt daikan is dead. He will give you a list of more corrupt daikan working for the Shinbakufu and this will complete the quest.
A Prayer For Omi
Meet Lady Oichi at the shrine on Shirahige as Yasuke. She’ll take you on a boat trip across the lake.
Escort Lady Oichi across the lake in the boat. When you’re across the lake, accompany Lady Oichi to the shrine.
Before entering the shrine, you must participate in the 4 purification rituals. Once you have done that, return to Lady Oichi to start a cutscene.
Follow Lady Oichi to the shrine and honor her brother’s memory through a cutscene. Once it’s over the quest will be complete.
The Wheel Unmasked
After completing the previous quests, you’ll need to regroup at the rendezvous point. It is in Omi, in eastern Shiotsu, and it is inside the town’s shrine.
After you choose to play as Yasuke or Naoe, find clues to the Wheel’s identity. Listen in on conversations around the harbor and check the Harbor Offices.
Once you have the clues, return to the rendezvous point. Choose to play as Yasuke or Naoe and assassinate the Wheel at Hogonji Temple.
Listen to The Mourner’s situation and choose to spare her or assassinate her.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Long Katana – Myth Slayer
- 300 mon
The Naginata
To start searching for the mourner, you must complete Yasuke’s quest, Lady of Whispers. You must also complete the main story quest, Mibuno Showdown.
An Evening in Otsu
Find Lady Nene’s contact, Aoi. She is a shrine maiden in Omi, is in western Mouth of Seta, and she is in Otsu Upper District.
Find a lead on Seta Bridge, directly east of the Mouth of Seta viewpoint. Read the scroll below Seta Bridge to start a cutscene.
Kill the ambushers then return to Aoi. Fortunately, she’ll meet you on the bridge once the ambushers are defeated.
Against the Koga-ryu
Locate the former daimyo, Shotei, to ask for his help to infiltrate Sakamoto Castle. He is in Omi, is in central Shimmering Fields, and he fled east from Seta Bridge.
After talking to Shotei, kill the attackers then return to Shotei. Talk to him to start a cutscene, then meet Katsuhime. She is in Omi, in southwestern Mount Hiei, and is atop Enryakuji Temple.
Track down Katsuhime and kill the four attackers at Enryajuki Temple. Once you do this, a cutscene will start and complete the quest.
Showdown in Sakamoto
Meet Shotei in the tower that overlooks Sakamoto. When you are ready to proceed, Shotei and Katsuhime will share their plan with you.
When the showdown starts, you’ll start as Yasuke and need to kill Gamo Yoshimitsu at the Yoshimitsu Estate. He’ll fight in a duel, one samurai against another.
With Gamo Yoshimitsu dead, you’ll play as Naoe. Destroy three explosives at Sakamoto Castle’s armory. The explosives will appear as red pots with a target painted on them.
With the explosives destroyed, regroup with Katsuhime on the roof of the armory. Meet Shotei to begin the final assault on the castle and assassinate Akechi Kagemitsu.
Akechi Kagemitsu will be on the second floor the castle and loses all his bravado without any backup.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Naginata – Sage’s Reach
- Engraving – Stack Damage After Block
- 295 mon
The Noble
To start tracking down The Noble, you must complete the quest The Rengakai.
The Rengakai
Meet the renga master in Himeji. Follow the renga master into Himeji Castle.
Follow Ukita Hideie to couple cutscenes. Kill the attackers at Himeji Castle, only to learn that they have kidnapped Ukita Hideie. Once the cutscene is over, the quest is completed.
Losing Hand
The watch commander, Tokubei, disappeared during the attack on the rengakai. Question Tokubei’s wife Suzu for any information on Tokubei.
Suzi is in Harima, in western Himeji, and she is at Tokubei’s House.
Suzu’s wife believes he’s at a gambling den. Confront Tokubei and figure out what’s so special about the shrine fortune he was hiding.
After you confront him, follow and chase Tokubei. When you catch him, question him as to why he left the rengakai.
You’ll learn a samurai from Chūgoku was behind the attack. Once you’re done talking to Tokubei, the quest will be complete.
The Scent of War
There was the scent of incense during the attack on the rengakai. Meet with Konishi Yukinaga at the Old Port of Aga.
After talking to Konishi Yukinaga, deal with the fake merchants southwest of your current location. You can assassinate them or talk to them, either way, kill the fake merchants.
Uncover clues about the shipment at Aga Hontokuji Temple. You’ll find a crate with rifles that smell of incense, a map of Western Harima, and a Shipping Bill.
Once you have found the clues, report back to Konishi Yukinaga. After you talk to him, the quest will be complete.
A Peculiar Guest
After completing Losing Hand and The Scent of War, you’ll need to search the shrine for information for Ukita Hideie’s location. They are in Harima, in Southern Himeji, and in Junisho Shrine.
Speak to the shrine maiden then kill the shinobi. When defeated, you’ll pick up a letter with the shinobi’s orders.
Rescue the special guest by finding him in Itatehyozu Shrine located in southeastern Himeji, Harima. When you reach the shrine, talk to then follow Ukita Hideie.
Talk to the priest, listen to his passive aggressive remarks, then continue to follow Ukita Hideie. You’ll run into Hideie’s father and learn that he is The Noble.
Survive the shinobi attack, fortunately they have no armor so you can make quick work of the group. Surviving the attack will complete the quest.
Spring and Fall
After completing A Peculiar Guest, you’ll be granted the quest Spring and Fall. You must warn Kuroda Kanbei about Ukita Naoie.
You’ll choose to play as Yasuke or Naoe, each having their own objectives for this quest.
Yasuke Route
Reach the honmaru gate at Himeji Castle. You can meet up with Tokubei and he’ll escort you to the gate. He’ll leave you to the samurai as he takes care of the civilians.
When you reach the gate, kill all the enemies there. Ukita’s Lieutenant will be the most dangerous opponent at the gate. Defeat the weak enemies then take on the Lieutenant.
With the gate clear, open the honmaru gate. Secure the honmaru by killing all of the shinobi in the area. You’ll then find Kuroda Kanbei and Ukita Naoie playing Go.
Naoe Route
There are three shinobi disguising themselves as residents of Himeji Castle. You’ll need to kill the three infiltrators.
One is in the training grounds, the second in the northern garden, and the third stands watch near a big tree. Their locations are in the following map:
Open the honmaru gate to let Yasuke inside. Multiple shinobi will be surrounding it. Secure the honmaru by killing the shinobi.
Chasing down Ukita Naoe
After Ukita Naoie leaves and the cutscene ends, climb up the tenshu to assassinate him. As Yasuke, you’ll need to go up the stairs and fight your way through to reach Ukita Naoie.
As Naoe, you must climb up the tenshu with your grappling hook. There’s an open window on the same level the blue marker is on.
Look for a trapdoor and go into the crawlspace. Follow the path to find another trapdoor, defeat the shinobi, and confront Ukita Naoie.
Be relentless when you fight Ukita Naoie. Parry his attacks and stagger him whenever you can.
He can summon a pair of shinobi that’ll make the fight annoying. It’s possible that more pairs are summoned, making it easy for them to overwhelm you.
After the fight, you can choose to kill or spare Ukita Naoie. I recommend sparing him as this leads to something his son needs.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Amulet – Oni’s Fury
- 255 mon
The Ox
To begin tracking down The Ox, you must complete the quest A Voice in Anger.
A Voice in Anger
Help the abbot at the Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple in Harima. The Ox’s men have attacked the temple and you’ll need to deal with them.
After witnessing the Ox propose his ultimatum, free Nakamura Tadashige. Once he’s free, talk to Nakamura Tadashige at the tower overlooking Miki Castle.
Astray
The Ox possesses a poweful army, you must retrieve the Ox’s invasion plans. It is in Harima, northwest of the Warfields, and it is in Hiraiyama Fort.
After finding the plans, meet with Nakamura Tadashige at Kyokaiji Temple. The quest will be completed when the conversation ends.
Brother in Arms
You will need to find and talk to the mysterious ronin in the Kanki Burned Fields. Defeat his attackers to talk to him.
You’ll learn that his name is Koshiro and if you want his help, you’ll need to join Koshiro’s search for Seiji at Kanki Castle.
Unfortunately, Koshiro’s friend is now a commander for the Ox and you’ll need to kill Commander Seiji. After the fight, you can choose to kill or spare him.
Of My Enemy
You must talk to Hiromichi’s man to seek his aid with sneaking into Miki Castle undetected. He is in Harima, is in Kakogawa Estuary, and is northwest of Horikawa Dock.
Talk to then follow Hiromichi’s man to meet Hiromichi. Your next objective is to Kill the Ox’s lieutenant. He is in Harima, in Kakogawa Estuary, and is near Takasago Shrine.
Fortunately it’s not hard to get there as the shrine is next door, east of Hiromichi’s home. Your clue to his location is found in the shrine’s central room.
The Lieutenant is guarding a ship with supplies for the Ox. He’ll be southeast of your location. Reach the boat and climb up the back to board the ship.
When the lieutenant is dead, report to Hiromichi at his home. When the conversation is over, the quest will be complete.
Broken Horn
Once you have completed Brother in Arms and Of My Enemy, return to Nakamura Tadashige in Miki.
Naoe will sneak into Miki Castle and take out the Ox’s gunmen and reach the deserters. Meanwhile Yasuke will take on the Ox himself.
Yasuke Path
Kill the Ox’s men, continue the assault, then talk to the dying soldier. A cutscene will start and you’ll need to defeat the Tsuno.
Your final objective is to assassinate the Ox, Bessho Harusama.
Naoe Route
Kill the 5 teppo-wielding guards. When the gunmen are dead, look for Yasuke and a cutscene will occur and Yasuke will fight the Tsuno.
As Yasuke fights below, secure the area where the deserters are. The area you start out in is small, crowded, and you can easily be seen by the guards. This is a good time to use some smoke bombs for instant cover.
When the guards are dead, talk to the deserter then reach Yasuke’s location. Your last objective is to assassinate the Ox. Start by taking out all the soldiers one by one until only the Ox is left.
With all the soldiers dead, sneak up behind the Ox for an assassination attack. This won’t kill him instant, so go up the house’s roof and let him lose sight of you.
As he’s searching for you, jump down to assassinate attack him again and repeat this until he’s defeated. It’s cheesy but he hits like a truck, it’s safer this way.
Once Bessho Harusama is defeated, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Kanabo – Daybreak’s Fury
- Engraving – Shrapnel from Breaking Armor
- 290 mon
The Wise
To find out more about The Wise, you must complete the quest A Chance Encounter.
A Chance Encounter
A miko maiden named Fuyu is waiting for you at Omiwa Shrine. Find Fuyu, she is in Yamato, in Nara Heartland, and she is a caretaker of Omiwa Shrine in Yamato.
Talk to Fuyu and follow her to the shrine. Pray at the first, second, and third shrines. You’ll meet a man named Kojiro, he’ll tell you to meet the daimyo, Tsutsui Junkei.
Talk to Tsutsui Junkei, he is in a town near Koriyama castle and is at a tea master’s house. After some spirited dialogue in a cutscene, the quest will be complete.
The Lost Envoys
Tsutsui Junkei had a group of peace envoys go missing, risking the stability of the region. Question the witnesses to learn more about the envoys.
The envoys are missing in Yamato, they traveled to Hidden River, and they were in Mitsue. You’ll find the witnesses in a row house, talk to Kojiro who happens to be there.
A drunk soldier will challenge you to a duel. Defeat the Akiyama soldier and after you humble him, a cutscene will start.
You’ll learn from the soldier than the envoys were taken to an iron gathering site. Rescue the Tsutsui envoys at the Iron Ore Storage.
Secure the area when you reach the Iron Ore Storage then talk to the envoy. You must then retrieve the invitation.
It is in Yamato, in Uda Matsuyama Castle, and it is in the Daimyo Residence.
When you find the invitation, meet Lady Ayako. She is in Yamato, southeast of Todaiji, and she is at Kasugataisha Shrine.
When you find her, follow Lady Ayako. After you talk to her and give her the invitation, the quest will be complete.
Restless Spirit
There is talk of spirits and angry kami. You will need to help resolve this situation by talking to the priests.
They are in western Yamato, they seek aid in Katsuragi, and they should be near the arena.
Once you talk to the priests, you’ll get a lead that you should search for clues in the manor.
Once you find the clues, find the meeting spot. It is near a bridge in Yamato, by the river east of Katsuragi, and it is at Hachiman Shrine.
Talk to Kojiro at Hachiman Shrine and he’ll tell you about some superstitious bandits camped out nearby in the Takatori Castle Ruins. Your next objective is to kill the bandit chief.
Once the chief is dead, secure the area by defeating the other bandits then inspect the bandit hoard.
Temple Stories
You must talk to Joken Hokkyo found in northern Yamato at the Todaiji Temple. Follow Joken Hokkyo as he shows you the temple grounds.
Kojiro will beckon you must follow him. Inspect the collection room for three clues: a letter, a sword, and a tea set.
Continue to follow Joken Hokkyo in the temple. Soldiers will attack and you must defend against the attackers. When they are defeated, talk to Joken Hokkyo.
Retrieve the sacred scroll from the thieves. The thieves fled west of Todaiji, went towards the Megalithic Vault, and they look like Akiyama soldiers.
Defeat the bandits and pick up the scroll near a cart. Give the scroll to Lord Junkei to complete the quest.
Darkness Falls
After completing the previous quests, the peace talks will soon take place. Meet with your ally.
The peace talks will start in Yamato, the meeting is at Kofukuji Temple, and it is in Nara Heartland.
Yasuke will attend the ceremony while Naoe will remain on the outside. You must choose to continue as Yasuke or Naoe.
Yasuke Route
As Yasuke, attend the peace talks in the temple. When the meeting is halted, talk to the lords. When you have done so, talk to Kojiro.
Naoe Route
As Naoe, climb up the tree in front of you and sneak into the temple to reach the vantage point. Look for suspicious behavior by listening in on the soldiers below.
Search the area and find the instructions in the incense box. Kill the sharpshooter and a cutscene will start.
Assassinate the Wise
After a failed assassination attempt, you must accuse Junkei, Ayako, or Hokkyo of not being who they seem, accuse Joken Hokkyo. Defend against the attackers.
This area will be backed with enemy soldiers, one of which is The Messenger of the Kurai Eikyou. This part is easier with Yasuke while Naoe will need to be skilled and/or use smoke bombs to assassinate groups.
With the path cleared, assassinate Joken Hokkyo. With a cutscene, we learn a bit as to who Kojiro is all along.
When Hokkyo is dead, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Kusarigama – Winds of War
- Engraving – Armor Break on Dazed Enemy
- Quest Item – Classic Tea Bowl Collection
- 355 mon
The Fox
To start tracking the Fox, you’ll need to complete Yasuke’s quest, Lords of Azuchi. When complete, you can start the quest Red Walls.
Red Walls
You’ll need to meet with Nagahide in Wakasa. His estate is in northern Obama and it is beside Hitokoto Shrine.
Chef Hong
You must find a man named Hong to learn more about what troubles Wakasa. His stall is in Wakasa, is in central Obama, and it is on a street with red lanterns.
Smuggler’s Gambit
Track down Samemaru, a man who was involved with the massacres of the Niwa Clan. He is in Wakasa, in western Lake Suigetsu, and his hideout is in Hiruga Bay.
When you reach his hideout, find two leads on Samemaru. These are two scrolls found in his hideout, a letter and some meeting notes.
Revenge
Hong has said that the Niwa family is being targeted. Talk to Nagahide’s cousin in Wakasa. They are in eastern Sotomo Gate and they reside in Tsuruga Castle.
After talking to Nagahide’s cousin, defend against the intruders. Return to Nagahide’s cousin and you’ll be asked to go to Saifukuji Temple.
The Music
Follow the biwa music to Saifukuji Temple. It is coming from Wakasa in southwestern Sotomo Gate. Talk to the biwa master near the broken bridge.
You’ll learn that the song you’ve been hearing was by one of the biwa master’s students, Takeda Motoaki, a man who is melancholy for his past.
The Performer
After completing the previous quests, return to Nagahide in Obama. He’ll be at Chef Hong’s noodle stall.
After a cutscene, you’ll play as Yasuke and need to chase Samemaru. When you corner him, you will need to fight and kill him.
With Samemaru dead, you’ll then play as Naoe to assassinate Takeda Motoaki. He resides in Wakasa, is in the Samurai Yashiki District, and he plays the biwa melody.
You can find a trio of servants praying at a small shrine. Follow the servant that works for Takeda.
When you hear the biwa, follow the music to its source to find and assassinate Takeda Motoaki.
When you complete the quest, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Katana – Snakebite
- Engraving – Instant Posture After Using Tool
- Quest Item – Bastion Dream Biwa
- 320 mon
After this quest, you will unlock The Pirate Alliance circle and quest on your objectives board. In this side quest, you have to track down several targets for Shido the Biwa Master, who appears in the People of Wasaka circle on your board.
The Two-Faced
To find the Two-Faced, you must start the quest The Peasant Who Would Be King. This is a short quest where you meet up with Lady Nene and after a cutscene, you’ll start Topple the Traitor.
Topple the Traitor
Meet Hideyoshi in his camp in Yamashiro, Yamazaki. It is south of Oyamazaki Village.
When the attack on Shoryuji Castle begins, assassinate Mitsuhide as Yasuke or Naoe. You can expect a lot of opposition in your way as you track down Mitsuhide.
Mitsuhide will attempt to get away on horseback. Grab one of the horses and follow him. In the coming battle, you will swap between using Yasuke and Naoe.
When defeated, he’ll tell you who was behind the Shinbakufu and the location of The Box. You can give him a samurai’s death as Yasuke, or give him the Assassin’s Creed special as Naoe.
You’ll receive the following rewards:
- Legendary Katana – Dragon’s Edge
- Engraving – Layer Impact on Dodge Attack
- 255 mon
The Horseman
You’re now after the final target who is behind the Shinbakufu. Assassinate Ashikaga Yoshiaki at Kuramadera Temple, north of Kyoto.
After the cutscene, you’ll have a new lead on the Templar Order and start the quest, The Silver Queen. You’ll receive The Box as your only reward for completing this quest.
