An injured dog seeks your help to avenge his master. Found in the Izumi Settsu Province, you don’t have to wait long to find this poor dog and join him in his quest.
How to get the quest
You will have access to this quest if you have preordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows on any platform. You can access it early on and as soon as you begin exploring Japan.
You can find the mission under the People of Settsu circle in the Objectives menu.
Thrown to the Dogs
Yes, you can pet any dog, but you must pet this specific dog to start the quest. The dog can be found on atop a hill with a spiraling path between Osaka and Tennoji Temple.
Make your way up this hill by following the path and pet the dog. The poor thing looks injured, and you’re about to find out why.
After petting and talking to the dog, it’ll take off. Follow the dog to wherever it’s going. Along the path you’ll run into some samurai that will attack you, protect the dog.
The dog will lead you to a small estate with a woman named Takako. Talk to her and come to the obvious conclusion that she’s a shrewd and greedy dog hater.
You’ll be given two dialogue choices:
- You will pay for hurting this dog. (Kill Takako)
- Touch this dog, and deal with me. (Takako runs away)
After dealing with Takako one way or the other, you’ll need to acquire the key. The key will be found underneath the shed on the east side of the estate.
Go around the back and you’ll find a space you can crawl into. Pick up the key and examine the gravesite where you found the dog.
You’ll find a chest that the dog dug up. Open the chest to start a cutscene. You’ll learn that the dog’s name is Tsuki-maru [Round Moon] and he deserves scratches.
After the cutscene, you’ll complete the quest and get the following rewards:
- Pet – Tsuki-Maru
- Quest Item – Ichiro’s Letter
You can now place the dog as a decoration in your hideout. Now there’s nothing between you and petting that dog for as long as you desire!
