The Tea Master, Sen no Rikyu, is looking to host a new tea house in Kyoto. You’ll need to find various tea bowls for Rikyu to aid his project. This guide will show you which tea sets you’ll need and where to get them.

How to start Tea Bowls for Rikyu
To get the quest Tea Bowls for Rikyu, you’ll need to assassinate The Golden Teppo of the Shinbakufu. Once done, you’ll gain the quest, and your destination is Kyoto in Yamashito where you need to talk to Sen no Rikyu.
He’ll tell you about his tea house project and how he needs Naoe to find more tea bowl collections for his tea house. You’ll find these tea bowl collections all over Japan, so don’t expect to rush it unless you’ve made significant progress with the main quest.
A Word of Warning
Once you turn in any of the tea bowl collections to Sen no Rikyu, you’ll no longer be able to place them as a decoration in your hideout. If you want to use any of them as decoration, place them in your hideout before turning them in.
Yasuke or Naoe
This quest is for Naoe, but you can use Yasuke to pick up the tea bowl collections from the vendors. To start and compete the quest, the game will demand that you switch to Naoe.
Where to find all 7 Tea Bowl Collections
All but one of the tea bowl collections can be purchased from specific Ornament Vendors and cost 125 mon a set. For the purchasable portion of this quest, you’ll need a total of 750 mon.
It doesn’t matter in what order you collect them. You just need to find and get all 7 of them and return to Tea Master, Sen no Rikyu.

You can find an Ornament Vendor in Sakai, Izumi Settsu that sells the Intricate Tea Bowl Collection. This vendor is found close to the docks on the west side of Sakai.
Rustic Tea Bowl Collection
An Ornament Vendor in Kyoto, Yamashiro sells the Rustic Tea Bowl Collection. She’s northeast of Toji Temple.
Sophisticated Tea Bowl Collection
An Ornament Vendor in Azuchi, Omi sells the Sophisticated Tea Bowl Collection. They’re north of the Merchants’ Quarters, south of Saikoji Temple, and east of Hachiman Canal.
Unique Tea Bowl Collection
An Ornament Vendor in Sakamoto, Omi sells the Unique Tea Bowl Collection. You can find her west of Sakamoto Castle and north of the Sake Brewery.
Elegant Tea Bowl Collection
An Ornament Vendor in Obama, Wakasa sells the Elegant Tea Bowl Collection. She’s in Kara Market southeast of the Trading Port.
Simple Tea Bowl Collection
An Ornament Vendor in Kameyama, Tamba sells the Simple Tea Bowl Collection. She’s south of Kameyama Castle and between Sennenji Temple and Seirinji Temple.
Classic Tea Bowl Collection
The Classic Tea Bowl Collection is rewarded to you after you assassinate The Wise of the Shinbakufu.
Should you invite Friends or Enemies for Tea
After you turn in all the tea bowl collections, Sen no Rikyu will ask Naoe and up to three guests of her choice for the first tea ceremony in the tea house. You’re given the choice to Invite Friends or Invite Enemies.
Inviting Friends
This is the option you should choose and you’ll see why. Inviting friends will play a cutscene of the tea ceremony with Sen no Rikyu, Naoe, Yasuke, Junjiro, and Master Sorin.
After the tea ceremony is complete, you’ll gain Sen no Rikyu as a new scout! The utility of gaining a new scout far outweighs the rewards of inviting enemies to the tea ceremony.
Inviting Enemies
If you invite enemies, Sen no Rikyu will ask if you’re sure about inviting these people. If you ignore this blatant warning from the developers, you’ll invite one of your objective targets such as someone from the Corrupt Daikan circle.
This starts the quest Fish in a Barrel where you have to assassinate whoever was invited to the tea ceremony. They have their guard down so it’s very easy to do, but Sen no Rikyu will be incredibly angry with you and you will not get him as a scout.
