How to start Fallen Soldiers
You’ll gain the quest Fallen Soldiers after assassinating The Ox of the Shinbakufu. As Naoe, talk to Koshiro in northern Harima. He’s at Kyokaiji Temple and is a short trip from the Kyokaiji Kakurega.
You’ll learn that members of his former unit are now trying to kill him due to his actions against Bessho Harumasa. You’ll need to track down and assassinate Yoshiro’s unit then take out their leader, Genzaburo.
The Scout
The Scout is found in The Silver Lands in southern Tamba. There are a couple kakurega in this area and the Mount Sen Viewpoint you can fast travel to.
When defeated, you’ll gain the following rewards from The Scout:
- Epic Bow – Vigilant Grasp
- Engraving – Buildup on Consecutive Hits
- Letter From Genzaburo
- 2 Mastery Points
- 325 Mon
The Swordsman
The Swordsman will be found in west Harima at Nagusano Falls. The closest kakurega is the Inariyama Kakurega, next to the Inariyama Watchtower Viewpoint.
After defeating The Swordsman in a duel, you’ll gain the following rewards:
- Epic Long Katana – Inari’s Bounty
- Engraving – Critical Chance with Combo Ender
- Genzaburo’s Threatening Letter
- 2 Mastery Points
- 280 Mon
The Teppo Expert
The Teppo Expert isn’t that far off from the Swordsman’s location. He’s at Kaya Shrine west of Mount Kasagata.
When you defeat The Teppo Expert, you’ll gain the following rewards:
Wave of Wasps
Stats Boost
+ Weapon DPS
+ Headshot DPS
+ Ability Damage
Engraving
+50% damage when Health is critical.
Larger Explosive Surprise Engraving
Engraving
Increased Explosive Surprise area of effect.

The Poisoner
The Poisoner will be found west of Osaka Castle in Izumi Settsu and will be performing in the Nishinomaru Garden.
You can sneak into Nishinomaru Garden at the west wall where you’ll find a hole you can walk through. Be mindful of the nosey civilian that’ll try to expose you, just knock him out then assassinate The Poisoner.
After assassinating The Poisoner, you’ll get the following rewards:
- Epic Bow – The Poisoner’s Message
- Engraving – Damage on Multiple Enemies
- Unsent Letter Regarding Koshiro
- 2 Mastery Points
- 355 Mon
Genzaburo
Before you can assassinate Genzaburo, you’ll need to talk to Koshiro at Kyokaiji Temple once more. Once you talk to him, you can begin tracking down Genzaburo. He is located at Zuiganji Temple, north of Himeji, Harima.
After assassinating Genzaburo and complete the quest, you’ll earn the following rewards:
- Epic Long Katana – Tactician’s Steel
- Engraving – Adrenaline on Consecutive Kills
- Outdoor Cosmetic – Archery Range
- 2 Mastery Points
- 290 Mon
- Unlock the Sweep the Leg Shinobi Passive for Naoe
- Unlock the Defensive Breach Samurai Passive for Yasuke
