How to start The Corrupt Daikan quest
You’ll gain this quest after completing the quest The Price of Rice as you hunt down The Mourner of the Shinbakufu. Kuma will tell you about the various corrupt daikan that are extorting people for personal gain.
The Concubine
The Concubine can be found at a Noh Theater in Kyoto, Yamashiro. It’s northeast of the Southern Kyoto Kakurega and southeast of Honnoji Temple.
After assassinating The Concubine, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Epic Kusarigama – The Concubine’s Veil
- Engraving – Poison Affliction Duration
- 2 Mastery Points
- 295 Mon
The Connoisseur
The Connoisseur is found northwest of Kanegasaki Castle at Sotomo Gate, Wakasa. Just go to the northernmost peninsula in Wakasa and you’ll find him.
After assassinating The Connoisseur, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Epic Kanabo – Barnacle Mallet
- Engraving – Tools on Headshot
- 2 Mastery Points
- 310 Mon
The Hedonist
The Hedonist is in the Outer Farmlands in northern Omizo, Omi. He’s a very short walk from the Omizo Kakurega.
After assassinating The Hedonist, you’ll get the Health on Hit Engraving as a reward.
The Hoarder
The Harder will be in Chikibushima on the island in northern Lake Biwa, Omi. The Hoarder can also be encountered during the quest The Wheel Unmasked. He’s found outside the building where The Mourner is located.
After assassinating The Hoarder, you’ll receive the following rewards:
Dragonfly’s Cunning
Stats Boost
+ Health
+ Adrenaline Gain
+ Vulnerable Damage
Engraving
+15% to Stats with only a Katana equipped
- 2 Mastery Points
- 338 Mon
The Soiled Merchant
The Soiled Merchant is in the lower Otsu Districts in Otsu, Omi. You can draw him out of his home by attacking his guards.
After assassinating The Soiled Merchant, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Engraving – Damage After Kill
- 2 Mastery Points
- 275 Mon
The Sword Hunter
The Sword Hunter is found in eastern Nomura Village, Omi. This is located in eastern Omi, south of Ibu Highlands.
After assassinating The Sword Hunter, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Engraving – Critical Chance on Multiple Enemies
- Your Qurest is Denied Letter
- 2 Mastery Points
- 300 Mon
Return to Kuma
Once you assassinate all of the corrupt daikan, return to Kuma at his lookout. After a cutscene, you’ll receive the following rewards:

Engraving
+50% damage per empty Armor Piece
