How to start Art Collector
You can start Art Collector at any time when you visit Kano Eitoku at Kano Painting School in Kyoto, Yamashiro. The art school is west of Nijo Palace, so it’s hard to miss or get lost. Kano will ask you to save art he made in the past.
Kano Painting Locations
These art pieces are found in various castles and he fears the constant battles will lead to their destruction. You’ll need to find ten Kano Paintings throughout Japan for this quest.
You’ll need to return to Kano once you’ve obtained three, six, and ten paintings. Each time you do, you’ll get a reward. These rewards will be listed after the painting locations section.
All of the Kano Paintings appear the same. They’re art panels that have been wrapped up with thick cloth and rope like in the following image:
Azuchi Castle, Omi
The Kano Painting in Azuchi Castle will be located within the tenshu. It’ll be inside Nobunaga’s trophy room.
Fukuchiyama Castle, Tamba
The Kano Painting in Fukuchiyama Castle is in a building west of the tenshu and the castle’s viewpoint.
Himeji Castle, Harima
The Kano Painting in Himeji Castle is south of the castle’s tenshu and viewpoint.
Koriyama Castle, Yamato
The Kano Painting in Koriyama Castle is located within the tenshu.
Nagahama Castle, Omi
The Kano Painting located at Nagahama Castle will be within the castle’s tenshu.
Nijo Palace, Yamashiro
The Kano Painting in Nijo Palace is north of the tenshu and viewpoint. This is a good one to save for last as you’re a short walk away from the Kano Painting School and can easily end the quest without fast travelling anywhere.
Nochiseyama Castle, Wakasa
The Kano Painting in Nochiseyama Castle is within the castle’s tenshu.
Osaka Castle, Izumi Settsu
The Kano Painting is in a building southwest of the tenshu and viewpoint.
Shoryuji Castle, Yamashiro
The Kano Painting in Shoryuji Castle is east of the tenshu.
Takatsuki Castle, Izumi Settsu
The Kano Painting in Takatsuki Castle is in a building south of the tenshu and viewpoint.
Returning to Kano Eitoku
As mentioned earlier, you’ll need to return to Kano Eitoku when you have received three, six, and ten paintings. You’ll get a kano painting each time and these can only be placed in your hideout’s Hiroma room. This is the main room at the front of the hideout.
Return with Three Paintings
When you return with three Kano Paintings, you’ll be given the Birds in a Landscape decoration.
Return with Six Paintings
When you return with six Kano Paintings, you’ll be given the Garden Scene decoration.
Return with Ten Paintings
The final reward you’ll get for finding all the paintings is 1,000 XP and the Painting of Lions decoration.
