George Lucas turns 81, an AI powered Darth Vader joins Fortnite, A Pirate’s Fortune is officially out and everything else that happened in the week of May 11 – May 17, 2025.

Thank the maker!

George Lucas turned 81 years old on May 14. While his involvement in the current Star Wars content is minimal, he’s still its creator and responsible for giving millions of people something to enjoy and cherish for decades. We wish him a happy birthday!

Andor comes to an end

After a very intense month, Season 2 of Andor has come to an end. This is a conclusion not only to the series but to Tony Gilroy’s involvement with the franchise, at least in the foreseeable future.

While we could dig and find unanswered questions or weird plot holes or weird creative decisions here and there, we are very happy with what this TV Series gave us.

This season has been critically acclaimed for the incredible quality of the acting, writing, costumes, set design, score, and pretty much everything you could think of.

We have our review of the last three episodes as well as a guide for all the hidden details and references.

Speak to Darth Vader in Fortnite

Darth Vader arrives to Fortnite in a never before seen feature. You can now recruit a Darth Vader NPC that will follow you around. What’s new with this NPC is that you can talk to it and it will answer you back with the voice that we all know and love.

This voice is AI generated and will answer almost everything you ask him. James Earl Jones granted his permission before his passing for the recreation of his voice with AI. His family also gave full permission for this collaboration to happen.

James Earl felt that the voice of Darth Vader was inseparable from the story of Star Wars, and he always wanted fans of all ages to continue to experience it. We hope that this collaboration with Fortnite will allow both longtime fans of Darth Vader and newer generations to share in the enjoyment of this iconic character.

It has been out just for a few hours and there are already some issues with it, as players have been able to trick it into saying some very unappropriate things.

As interesting or even funny as it is, we have to wonder what kind of precedent this sets for the future of games and voice actors. Especially with the current video games actors strike which has just passed its 300th day.

Here are a few more additions to this week’s Fortnite update:

  • Players can now unlock General Grievous in the Battle Pass, including his Kaleesh warrior look
  • Jar Jar Binks and Darth Jar Jar join the store as separate skins. Darth Jar Jar is the first skin featured in the new Level Up Shop Quest
  • The Wookiee Bowcaster and the Jawa CA-87 shock blaster are now available on the map
