How to unlock the Fire Shot

When you’ve unlocked Vi-O-La at Volt Forge, drive towards the volcano. You’re looking for two large pillars, this will lead you to the entrance of Flare Pool. Place your bike into the hologram and rev it up to activate the tunnel.

Drive through the Magma Overflow, into Shoreline Access, then to Lava Lake Bridge. Activate the bridge with your bike and a cutscene will play.

Return to Shoreline Access, defeat the Psy-bots with Vi-O-La’s projectiles, and take the door on the south side of the hall.

Defeat the Pyremites in the scrapyard, go behind the crane, and jump up the platforms and onto the crane. Morph Ball through the crane and reach the tip, then bomb the red glowing object to free it.

Interact with the device to pick up the Fire Chip. Return to Fury Green, taking the cargo launcher to quickly access base camp. Talk to MacKenzie when you arrive. He’ll modify the chip and allow Samus to use it as a weapon, unlocking the Fire Shot.

What is the Fire Shot

The Fire Shot is a subweapon that deals high-heat damage. When fired at a target, they can catch on fire while taking burning damage. This is also useful for melting ice, such as that ice wall blocking the path into Ice Belt.

This subweapon has a slower rate of fire when compared to the Psychic Beam, and it has limited ammo known as Shot Ammo. Your Shot Ammo pool is shared by the Fire Shot, Ice Shot, and Thunder Shot.

Enemies killed by the fire shot will disintegrate in a flurry of embers

High-Heat Weaponry

Some obstacles you scan indicate that it can only be destroyed by High-Heat Weaponry. This could be a Heat Lock on a door, thick webs, or a wall of ice. The Fire Shot is used to destroy these obstacles, allowing you to progress into inaccessible areas.

Heat Vulnerable Enemies

Always scan your enemies, their information might indicate that they’re weak to high temperatures. Some examples of this include Ice Crawlers and Snow Wolves. Being weak to heat, a single shot will instantly immolate them.
