Learn how to unlock the Psychic Boost Ball in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond! Includes info on where to find it, how it’s used, and boost your way through both obstacles and foes.

How to unlock the Psychic Boost Ball

You can unlock the Psychic Boost Ball by going into the Lamorn Laboratory in Ice Belt. Once you reach the Quarantine level, you’ll need to defeat the area boss Keratos to unlock the Psychic Boost Ball.

How the Psychic Boost Ball works

Just like the Boost Ball from previous games, you can build up a charge and release it to dash as a Morph Ball. This opens up unique ways to platform while providing mobility, utility, and minor combat uses.

Getting up Half Pipes

To get up half pipes, use the Psychic Boost Ball to charge up and dash up, releasing the energy right before you curve up. It’ll take a few tries to build up enough energy, but you’ll be able to boost yourself onto higher terrain.

Using Spinners

Spinners are devices that you can roll into with the Morph Ball. Use the Boost Ball within the Spinner to activate machines, open doors, or power up nearby terminals.

Spinners can appear as loops on occasion. Simply speed boost around in the loop to power up the mechanism.

Run Away or Fight

If you want to get through a room while avoiding enemies, try the Psychic Boost Ball! You’re harder to hit when in Morph Ball mode and you can boost your way to your exit.

If needed, ram into your enemies with the Psychic Boost Ball. You put yourself at risk of being hit in a scenario where ranged combat or bombs would be better, but it’s better than nothing.
