How to unlock Vi-O-La
To unlock Viola, you’ll need to find Fury Green’s Master Teleporter Key then shoot yourself from the Cargo Cannon for the first time. You’ll find yourself at the entrance to Volt Forge upon landing. Go inside Volt Forge and power up the first tower to unlock Vi-O-La Neuro Bike and the Vi-O-La suit.
The controls for Vi-O-La vary depending on the controller scheme you’re using. If you’re looking for a more intuitive feel, try the Dual Stick Fusion control scheme. ZR accelerates while ZL brakes, similar to twisting the handles on a motorcycle.
What is Vi-O-La For
Vi-O-La will be your primary method of transportation between zones located in Sol Valley. Without it, you’d be walking for an egregiously long time while being ill-prepared to fight the threats lurking beneath the sands.
Once you’ve acquired it, mount or dismount it with the + button. Not all areas will allow you to mount Vi-O-La. It’s primarily used within Sol Valley but there are some instances in regions where it can be mounted.
Vi-O-La is often required to access areas such as Vi-O-La tunnels, activating specific elevators, or other apparatuses. Though it comes with a lot more features than that!
Boost and Power Slide Abilities
When you enter the third tower of Volt Forge, you’ll be taken onto a Driver’s Certification course that will provide a tutorial on using Vi-O-La and using its abilities.
The Boost Ability can be activated by pressing B by default on either the Dual Stick or Pointer control scheme. This gives you a short burst of speed and will regenerate over time. The boost can also be used to attack enemies if you ram into them.
Pressing B again shortly after boosting will let you perform the Power Slide. This creates a horizontal area which you can damage multiple targets.
Vi-O-La Projectiles
While the Boost and Power Slide are good for grounded enemies, you’ll encounter flying ones that need to be taken down. The Vi-O-La comes with a projectile that can be fired at a target.
You can tap the projectile button to shoot the projectile forward, or press and hold it to hit multiple opponents at once.
Vi-O-La IC
After acquiring the Psychic Boost Ball, you can return to Volt Forge to unlock Vi-O-La IC Suit. This suit provide high heat resistance while unlocking a new form for Vi-O-La. Vi-O-La will automatically turn into Vi-O-La IC if you drive over lava in its new hoverbike form.
