How to unlock the Thunder Shot
To unlock the Thunder Show, you’ll need to acquire the Psychic Grapple. You’ll earn this as a reward towards the end of your journey in Flare Pool. Once you’ve acquired this upgrade, go to Volt Forge.
Go to Tower 1 in Volt Forge and when you’re in the Showroom, make a left to the elevator. To the right of the elevator is a panel you can rip off with the Psychic Lasso. Use this unlocked Morph Ball Elevator for a shortcut to Tower 1’s Power Generator.
Swing across the Grapple Points and Morph Ball through the tunnel to reach the Manufacturing Floor. Take the east door and use the Grapple Points along the walls to traverse the Collapsed Catwalk. Take the elevator down to the Power Core.

On the left side of the Power Core is a malfunctioning power cell. Pull off its protective cover and interact with the device to retrieve the Thunder Chip. After a fight with Sylux, return to MacKenzie to unlock the Thunder Shot.

The Thunder Shot
The Thunder Shot is a subweapon that shoots electricity to shock enemies. It’s also able to power electrical devices and open Thunder Locks. Like the Fire Shot and Ice Shot, it has limited ammo and uses the Shot Ammo pool. You’ll need to collect Shot Expansions to increase the ammo cap.

Shockingly good offense
The Thunder Shot has a much better rate of fire than the Fire or Ice Shots. It also has the unique ability to arc between targets. It’s a great weapon for fighting enemies that are clumped up together.

Power up devices and Scout Bots
Aside from opening Thunder Locks, the Thunder Shot has good utility by being able to power up devices such as the Lamorn Storage Locker in the room next to base camp.

Each zone in Viewros has a deactivated Scout Bot you can find. By shooting it with the Thunder Shot, you can power it up and it’ll update your map after you scan it. It’ll show any remaining Inventory items remaining in the zone. This includes Missile Expansions, Shot Expansions, and Energy Tanks.
