Maul – Shadow Lord has an official release date, Mad Cave Studios joins efforts with Lucasfilm Publishing for two graphic novels, and everything that happened in the week of January 17 – January 23.
Maul – Shadow Lord has a release date
Lucasfilm released the teaser as well as the official release date for the upcoming animated series Maul – Shadow Lord. The show premieres on April 6 and will finish on May 4 with two episodes released every week.
The show takes place after the last season of The Clone Wars and will focus on Maul building what eventually becomes Crimson Dawn. There are new characters and returning characters, with the most notable being a Jedi Padawan who might become Maul’s apprentice. You can learn more details about it in our dedicated article.
Oga’s Cantina closed at Disneyland until March
Last week, Disney announced that, starting April 29, the Original Trilogy is coming to Galaxy’s Edge. This means that iconic characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Leia will now appear in a section of Batuu.
This change involves more than just a few character appearances. The physical appearance of Batuu will change to match this “new era”. Because of this, Oga’s Cantina, the place where you can buy Star Wars-themed alcoholic beverages and snacks, will be closed for refurbishment until March, with no specific date revealed yet.
Lucasfilm Publishing teams up with Mad Cave Studios
Lucasfilm Publishing and Mad Cave Studios are joining forces to release two new Star Wars graphic novels aimed at middle-grade readers. The first story is about smugglers and scoundrels hunting down Han Solo and Chewbacca to collect the bounty that Jabba put on their heads. Star Wars: Smugglers and Scoundrels – The Race for Jabba’s Bounty releases September 15, 2026.
The second story will take us back to Tatooine to see Luke Skywalker and his trusted friend Biggs Darklighter venture into the iconic (and dangerous) Beggar’s Canyon. Star Wars: Tales from the Outer Rim – The Legend of Beggar’s Canyon releases October 13, 2026.
