Disney has a new CEO, New Maul – Shadow Lord Characters Revealed, Momoa and Bautista want in Star Wars

Disney has announced their new CEO and CCO, Funko spoiled the names of characters from Maul – Shadow Lord, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista want to be in Star Wars, Low Red Moon is out and everything that happened in the week of February 1 – February 6, 2026.

Disney has named their new CEO

Disney has officially announced that, starting March 18th, Josh D’Amaro will be the new Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, with Dana Walden serving as President and Chief Creative Officer.

D’Amaro’s past charge was Disney Experiences Chairman, while Walden was Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment.

With a few exceptions, Star Wars has felt stiff and unwilling to push for new takes on storytelling. This might be the best opportunity for us to get something fresh and unique.

D’Amaro led the development of Galaxy’s Edge and pushed for new technologies like the retractable lightsaber. With this in mind, I hope that he has a soft spot for Star Wars and pushes for new things.

With both Disney and Lucasfilm changing the leadership, the future of Star Wars is definitely going to change. On paper, everything looks like it’s in the hands of people that really care about it, but there’s a big difference between right intentions and proper execution.

The next few years are going to be key for the future development of Star Wars movies, series, games, books, and experiences. We’ll probably have to wait until Star Wars Celebration 2027 to learn more about what’s next.

FUNKO reveals the names of two Maul: Shadow Lord characters

FUNKO revealed some of its upcoming Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Pops. By doing so, they beat LEGO at disclosing the names of two characters months before the series’ release.

One of them is Icarus, a Zabrak who appeared in the teaser trailer that came out two weeks ago. The second character is “The Crow” who we also know as the Eleventh Brother. A strange but fitting nickname for the character, that is likely to be explained when Maul – Shadow Lord is out.

With the exception of Hooded Maul, all figures are common, with “The Crow” being a Target Exclusive.

Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista want to be in Star Wars

Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista discussed multiple topics in GOAT TALK, a series made by Prime Video and Complex. One of the questions was “GOAT movie franchise you’d like to join?” Both agreed that the answer is Star Wars.

They didn’t dive deep into it because of the format of the video, but they talk about how playing a bad guy would be their ideal role. I can definitely imagine both as a duo of villains, either bounty hunters or dark-siders.

The Mandalorian and Grogu go to the Super Bowl

The Seahawks are facing the Patriots at Super Bowl LX. Millions of people watch this event, which means that it is the perfect opportunity for brands to show their products. According to Variety, Disney and Lucasfilm are expected to join the party and show a trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu.

I expect it to be similar, if not the same, trailer shown last year during Star Wars Celebration, since most people have not seen it. If you are going to watch the match, you’d better keep an eye out for the trailer.

Vintage Collection Eleventh Brother and Marrok

Steve Evans, Design Director at Hasbro for Marvel and Star Wars, revealed on his Instagram the Vintage Collection Eleventh Brother and Marrok figures. They will be available mainline with pre-orders opening February 13 at 1 pm ET.
