Bit Reactor share more details about Star Wars Zero Company

In the latest PC Gamer magazine issue, Bit Reactor’s developers share more details about their work in Star Wars Zero Company. The base of your crew is called The Den and it’s located on the Ring of Kafrene. This where you’ll be able to hire and customize crew members.

An important element is how characters will slowly get closer to each other as they go on more missions together. Not only their bond gets stronger, but also their combined synergy in battle is affected by this.

Story missions include 3rd person perspective and being able to walk around while Operations have a more spy-ish approach. Something like acquiring intel in a cantina can be done through different methods: schmooze, bribe or brawl. This is just an example provided by PC Gamer but there are many other similar scenarios.

When you are not doing missions, you can pilot your character and walk around like Cal Kestis in Jedi Survivor. It is until the combat begins that the camera zooms out and the RTS gameplay kicks in.

Arguably, the most important detail revealed is that Permadeath is present in the game. You can lose your favorite character permanently if you missplay. This takes the stakes to the next level and may even lead to some emotional moments after a fight that went wrong.

Combining all of these elements is not something easy to pull off but it already makes it sound like a unique experience. But I think we need to see more before getting too excited.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have a release date yet but Star Wars Zero Company is supposed to come out this year. Hopefully, we will hear about it sooner than later.
