SWTOR is now 5 years old!

5 players gathered to celebrate the 5th year of SWTOR

Yesterday, on 20th December was the Star Wars The Old Republic’s 5th anniversary. Exactly 5 years ago, on 20th December 2011, a brave new MMO from Bioware saw daylight after many years of development. The game broke many records, it enriched the lives of many and saddened others with some of it its unique features or the lack of others.

I am proud to call myself a veteran in this game, because for good or evil I was around for every single moment of SWTOR, long before launch, actually. I had first hand experience with all the ups and downs. I saw all the mistakes Bioware did and all the cool new innovations the company brought to the genre. Thanks to you, my fans and supporters, I created my own community and we all together are a part of a much larger community, the Star Wars family.

Last night I invited 4 special guests and some of my favorite people who play, enjoy and cover SWTOR and Star Wars in general. They are no less Star Wars freaks (or junkies if you prefer) than me and in the span of about 2 hours we had an amazing discussion. We talked about our sad and good memories from the game, jumped back through time to relive our first encounters with SWTOR, shared a tear or two about the negative things we have experienced in these long years and… we ultimately had fun. Tons and tons of fun!
