Documentary miniseries with Interviews and Behind the Scenes from CDPR
Have you heard of Noclip on YouTube? This is a company, making crowdfunded video game documentaries. Their mission is to tell authentic stories about video games, the people who make them, and those who play them.
In October 2017 they released several videos dedicated to the Witcher video games and the story of CD Projekt Red, the studio responsible for the trilogy. Each one of the 6 episodes tells a different part of the company’s story and their struggle from a very small group, through the creation process of the first and second Witcher games to the more modern days and the crazy success of The Witcher 3.
- The Story of CD Projekt – the first video tells the story of how CDPR was created and what the company went through in the years before the first Witcher game
- Remembering The Witcher 1 and 2 – The second episode is dedicated to the first two games and touches on how close CDPR came to bancrupcy at one point during the development of the 2nd game
- Designing the World of the Witcher 3 – the 3rd clip is about the environment of the Wild Hunt and how it came to life from scratch
- The Quests of Wild Hunt – the 4th episode describes the incredibly complicated and innovative systems and mechanics CDPR developers used for the quests in the 3rd game
- Found in Translation – the 5th episode shares several stories of the various difficulties and obstacles CDPR overcame while translating their game
- Devil’s in the Detail – the final part of the mini series talks about all the smallest details that complete the amazing adventure and experience every player with the Wild Hunt – music, combat mechanics, the mini games and more.
