New Look of the Millennium Falcon in Solo A Star Wars Story

New Looks of the Millennium Falcon in the Han Solo Movie

The biggest boom in the Star Wars community after the release of the first official Teaser Trailer of the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story movie about young Han Solo seems to be the look and design of the famed Millennium Falcon.

The Corellian Light Freighter looks so different from what we know it to be in the Classic Trilogy. Why is that? Ok, simple answer would be – because that’s what a Corellian YT freighter is supposed to look like when it’s new or well taken care of. It’s a known fact that the Falcon has seen a lot of fights in its time with Han as its pilot. The life of a smuggler isn’t exactly as luxurious as we might think. Not always anyways.

Solo: A Star Wars Story All Trailers in One Place

Millennium Falcon New Look for the Han Solo Movie

The Solo Teaser showed the Falcon shining and beautiful, with a satellite dish pointing up, its interior was bright white and… well, clean! This isn’t Hans’s ship, was the default go-to reaction for most of us, the hard-core fans. Given the fact that this was just a teaser, we only got a short glimpse of the freighter. In their recent episode The Star Wars Show showed the ship from more angles and explained some of the most obvious differences.

The hosts of the show – Anthony Carboni and Andi Gutierrez shared some insights regarding the ship’s new look. Anthony said that “the design was heavily inspired by early Ralph McQuarrie designs with the sleek, sharp look as well as the radar dish pointing up, the single gun on top, and of course, a slick blue paint job”. “The version of the Falcon we see in the teaser is actually the closest we’ve ever seen to what a brand new, or well-taken-care-of version of the Corellian freighter would look” – added Andi.

A lot of mysterious facts were still left untold, but we might have to wait for the movie to be released along with all of the expected literature (Visual Dictionary, for example :P) for us to get the full explanation of why is the Falcon so vastly different both from the outside and the inside!

Game of Thrones Creators Benioff and Weiss to make New Star Wars Series

This week was full of exciting Star Wars news! First we got the teaser for Solo, then came the announcement of the new Star Wars films coming from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B Weiss. Not long ago we learned that Rian Johnson was handed a whole new Trilogy after Episode IX is released. Well, that’s plenty of Star Wars. Some might even say it’s more than we can handle. Are there such people here by any chance? I guess not…

But what do you think? Which of the 2 versions do you like more? As an old-fashioned Star Wars fan I lean heavily towards the “hunk of junk” version of the Falcon from A New Hope and the original Trilogy.
