Bayek travels to Thebes to investigate an ancient curse that’s plaguing the region. The Curse of the Pharaohs focuses on Egyptian mythology, pitting players against famous pharaohs and Egyptian monsters. The Curse of the Pharaohs is set four years after the events of the main game. On his journey to investigate the curse, Bayek will be traversing historical landmarks such as the ancient capital city of Thebes with its temples of Karnak and Luxor, which will lead him to explore the secret tombs of the Valley of the Kings and what lies beyond. Players will be able to delve into the new region, with a variety of main quests and side quests that will immerse them in the mystical beliefs of ancient Egypt. This region will challenge players with a new set of enemies and mystical boss fights. A new level cap – 55, will be unlocked.
How to play the DLC
The Hidden Ones DLC is not required for this. It is not required for you to finish the main story either before you jump into the Curse of the Pharaohs story DLC. There are two options before you when you download this update:
- You can enter the Thebes region playing using your current progress from the main game.
- Or you can boost your save games. This creates a new save game in which Bayek is Level 45 with pre-selected gear. This option allows lower-level players to delve into the expansion straight away.
Players who own the expansion can access it through The Curse of the Pharaohs quest in their quest menu. It will appear in the quest log once players have progressed past the main game’s quest, Farewell. They can also open the Atlas in the world map and fast travel to the Thebes region.
The Curse of the Pharaohs is part of the Season Pass or can be purchased separately for €19.99/$19.99. You need to own Assassin’s Creed Origins to access the expansion.
