The Quest gives 1000 XP and is for players level ~42+. To start this Trial, simply walk into the circled with flashy animations area. A short cinematic will play and the boss will spawn. Best preparations for this fight include a Light Bow with an upgraded Quiver. The advantage of the Light Bow is that it shoots fast and when you use it on the boss, you can fire three arrows one after another quickly.

Sobek, similarly to Anubis, is invincible to your melee weapons thanks to an aura that stops you from reaching the boss. You have to use a bow to damage him. Aim for the light circle on his chest, but be mindful, it disappears from time to time. Using the Light Bow will allow you to damage him faster and is the most efficient ranged weapon for this fight.

From time to time additional arrows will spawn on the ground. Always try to pick them up to refill your quiver.

When Bayek is in danger of some special attack, his body will flash in red, notifying you of an incoming danger. Usually this is a red beam with a burning hyena, a red circle or a red wide telegraph of black smoke.

The first notable special attack from the boss is the massive wave of… mud and dirt that Sobek throws at you. You can easily avoid it by dodging/strafing to the side and wait for it to pass.

When you see Sobek lean forward to you and slam his hands into the ground, this is a sign of the next special attack incoming – the red circles.

Once they are placed, be sure to step/dodge/strafe outside of the marked with red area. This attack is usually coming in two to three consecutive waves.

The next special wave of adds are the Sobek’s soldiers – once again, they spawn from the ground and are real enemies that you can fight the way you fight them in the open world. The boss does a specific unique move (animation) to announce the spawn of the soldiers and this will give you enough time to get closer to the boss’ aura. You have a few seconds to “ambush” and assassinate one or two (if you have the additional ability unlocked) of the soldiers quickly. I suggest you save your Overpower Attack for one of them, then use the Overpower Chain Combo (if you have the skill) to kill off one more extra opponent nearby.

When you see Sobek marking a large portion of the ground with red and the flashing notification “Use Block” – you should either do as the text says – put up your shield in front of you or do your best to run out of the read area as quick as possible. This is Sobek’s final special attack worth mentioning. A rain of arrows will fall down on Bayek, taking small amounts of HP, but hitting him multiple times. Remember to face Sobek while blocking – line of sight is important here.

The reward from this fight is a special shield, part of a full set that can be obtained by completing all Trials. Completing the Trial of Anubis multiple time in one event span, will always grant you the 1000 XP, but only the first successful kill will grant you the special item reward.
