Bioware confirmed that the studio does not wish to become a One-Game-Company with Anthem. Other games of all types will still be developed in the future
Bioware’s general manager Casey Hudson, who returned to take back control of Anthem’s development, reassured the community that the company doesn’t plan to center all of its assets and future plans around the upcoming third-person action game Anthem. Anthem’s executive producer Mark Darrah also told Gameinformer that it’s incredibly important and reminded the fans that they currently have also a team working on the next Dragon Age game. He insisted that there are no plans for Bioware to become “just one note”.
Anthem is surely going to be the studio’s next “big thing”, but both Bioware and EA want to develop some experimental and smaller projects on the side.
According to Mark Darrah, there is currently a trend among big Triple A game studios looking to diversify and set new standards. Creative ideals fly all over the office at Bioware, said Casey Hudson. Developers often want to push their attempts at something new and exciting, but don’t want to wait for the “something big” to be ready.
There is no doubt that Anthem is planned to be a game of the future… and for the future as well. Bioware is attempting things that have not been done before – trying new mechanics, features and systems.
Anthem is releasing on 22nd of February 2019. You can pre-order it now if you like. There are two editions available – Standard and Deluxe. To learn more about the differences between them check ANTHEM Pre-Order: Editions Differences and System Requirements
