This week BioWare updated their official website to throw in a new design of the Anthem News page. We got an interview with actor Nick Tarabay, who plays Haluk and learned a few new interesting details about the game’s progression, difficulty tiers, possibility to save your javelin loadouts and more.

If you are new to Anthem and have not been following the game’s development, check out these links to get some basic knowledge about BioWare’s newest title:

Let’s take a look at each one individually.

Nick Tarabay, who you might know from his role as a Gladiator in the TV Show Spartacus, gave an interview for Anthem’s official website and shared interesting insights of how his first ever video game voice over acting job happened. Earlier he also hosted the PAX West panel for BioWare and was totally unable to hide his enthusiasm about his character Haluk and the game over all.

Over on Twiter, Mark Darrah – executive producer of Anthem, and Michael Gamble – lead producer for Anthem, have been as active as always, sharing interesting new details and answering questions filed under the #AMAAAA tag. Here are some of their best tweets (sources linked at the bottom of the article):

Customization and rationalization options for your Javelins can be earned by gameplay. Purchasing cosmetics via the In-Game story for real money is not the only way to make your exosuit stand out from the crowd.

Each one of the four Javelins has some form of mitigation ability. The Colossus has the giant Shield, that spawns from his arm, the Ranger will be able to dodge and so on.

Anthem will offer dailies to keep you occupied and entertained after you are done with the content and waiting for the next one to arrive.

Speaking of content, Mark Darrah confirmed that the difficulty system will have some similarities to the one in Diablo 3. Once you are in the End-Game, you can keep progressing by upping the challenge by climbing up the ladder of difficulty again and again. This will, of course, result in better loot and other rewards for your hard work. BioWare has stated several times already that the “Hard Difficulty” is quite challenging. You can imagine what the End-Game tiers would offer you.

Every player will have sooner or later (based on their progress with the story) access to more than one Javelin. The good news is that you will be able to save different loadouts for your Javelin and be able to quickly swap between them when you need to. It is still not 100% clear if and how this will be available, but you will most likely be required to return to Fort Tarsis, or at least to the Strider, to do that.

All Javelin suits will be able to draw aggro in some way. The Colossus has some explicit aggro control available. Mark is certain, everyone can tank. Apparently the role of a classic tank is not of such a high demand.

We know there will be a matchmaking system and some sort of a “group finder” tool in Anthem. Mark confirmed on Twitter that the studio doesn’t want to be too restrictive with the tool and exclude opportunities. The goal is to have balanced parties. This doesn’t mean you can’t roll out with four Storms. Of course, some missions, especially on higher difficulties, might be a serious challenge, but a team of four Storms is most likely looking to be challenged indeed!

Each Javelin will have the same speed when flying above ground. The decision for that is so no player is left behind or able to run faster than the rest and aggro the entire instance or world around. BioWare wants the teams to move and play together.

There are up to four people per server in Anthem. In Freeplay mode you are not tightly grouped, so you can come across any of the other 3. If you are grouped with friends or using the matchmaking tool, you will always be transferred to the same instance together with your (up to) four buddies.
